An outboard motor engine includes a feedback control system for controlling the air/fuel ratio of the air/fuel mixture combusted within the engine. The control system can be configured to vary the target output value of a combustion condition sensor in accordance with at least one engine operation characteristic, for example, but without limitation, engine speed or throttle position.

Oxygen sensor and feedback system for outboard motor engine

A two-cycle engine having a plurality of combustion chambers, each chamber in communication with an air/fuel mixture delivery passage via a crankcase chamber, is disclosed. The engine includes a system for delivering fuel which precipitates out of the air/fuel mixture within the delivery passage to the combustion chambers. The system includes at least one fuel catch in the form of a trough positioned in each delivery passage and a fuel delivery passage extending from the catch to the combustion chamber.

Drain system for two cycle engine

A fuel increasing system for an internal combustion engine having a normal charge forming system with a plurality of carburetors. A supplemental fuel supplying system is incorporated that draws fuel from the fuel bowl of one of the carburetors to a supplemental fuel pump which, in turn, delivers fuel under pressure to a pressure regulating valve which regulates pressure by discharging excess fuel back to the fuel bowl from which it is drawn. The discharge of supplemental fuel to the engine is controlled by individual supplemental fuel control valves mounted on each of the carburetors.

An internal combustion engine subject to low-temperature operation in humid regions is provided with means to heat the carburetor so as to prevent icing and excessive condensation of fuel from the fuel/air charge. The heat is preferably supplied to the wall of the intake passage just downstream from the throttle valve, and may be derived from engine coolant, engine gas exhaust, or from a separately-powered heater.
