A stopper mechanism includes: an arm part which is a part of a cover; an arc-like projection part at the end of the arm part; and a sliding member slidably provided in the cover. When the sliding member flanks the projection part, the arm part is prevented thereby from being bent and a stopper mechanism is locked. When the sliding member is allowed to slide and to be removed from behind the projection part, the arm part is allowed to be bent, and the stopper mechanism is unlocked.

Connector

A first contact member comprises a liquid conductor which comes into contact with a second contact member so as to establish the electric connection between the two contact members. A container contains the first contact member therein. The second contact member is pin-shaped. The container is tube-shaped and has a containing portion, which is filled with the liquid conductor, and has an opening through which the second contact member is inserted. An area contraction portion for contracting the cross sectional area of the container is formed at a position between the containing portion and the opening. The container is installed in a through hole provided in a base member. The container includes a pipe member of an electric conductor which comes into direct contact with the liquid conductor and a plug member to be inserted into the hole, before the pipe member is inserted, for preventing the liquid conductor from escaping from the container. The container is formed of elastic material. The portion of the container near to the opening is split into segments and portions of the segments are positioned away from each other as the portions are near to the opening so that the outer diameter of the segments is larger than the inner diameter of the hole before the container is installed into the hole, the segments approaching each other as the container is being inserted into the hole against the elastic force of the segments.

Connector employing liquid conductor for electrical contact

An electrical connecting device including a first circuit board providing thereon with input/output terminals, each of the terminals having a tip surface coated with gallium and a second circuit board providing thereon with contact terminals, each of the terminals having a tip surface coated with indium or tin. A low-melting point alloy layer is formed by a mutual action between gallium and indium or tin, when the input/output terminals of the first circuit board are in contact with the respective terminals of the second circuit board and the terminals are electrically connected to each other. The second metal layer includes a plurality of wire-like metal supports extending substantially perpendicular to the surface of the terminal and a low-melting point metal retained by the wire-like metal supports.

Electrical connecting device and method for making same

An electrical connecting device including a first circuit board providing thereon with input/output terminals, each of the terminals having a tip surface coated with gallium and a second circuit board providing thereon with contact terminals, each of the terminals having a tip surface coated with indium or tin. A low-melting point alloy layer is formed by a mutual action between gallium and indium or tin, when the input/output terminals of the first circuit board are in contact with the respective terminals of the second circuit board and electrically connected to each other. The second metal layer includes a plurality of wire-like metal supports extending substantially perpendicular to the surface of the terminal and a low-melting point metal retained by the wire-like metal supports.

A contact pin includes: a pin terminal secured to a stationary base art by press-fitting a press-fitted part into the stationary base part, the pin terminal projecting from the stationary base part and being joined to the board; a contact part inserted into a contact pin through-hole of a movable lock part so that a plug pin terminal is fitted into the contact part; and an auxiliary plate 6 reinforcing the press-fitted part, engaged with the movable lock part and transmitting a force caused by a movement of the movable lock part to the press-fitted part. A connector constructed in the described manner includes a plurality of above-mentioned contact pins.

Method of assembling a connector using frangible contact parts

A plug includes an inner pipe in which an external electric cable is installed; and an outer pipe supporting the inner pipe therein via an elastic member such that the inner pipe can move in the outer pipe in a withdrawal direction, the outer pipe being provided with a first locking portion for locking the plug to the socket. A socket accompanied by an electric circuit, the inner pipe being inserted into the socket so that the electric circuit is electrically connected to the electric cable, the inserting being performed in an inserting direction opposite to the drawing-out direction. A fixed block fixed to a base on which the socket is also fixed, however the construction consisting of the fixed block, socket and base is made so that an external force applied to the fixed block cannot be directly applied to the socket, the fixed block being provided with a second locking portion to be fitted to the first locking portion so that the plug is locked to the fixed block.

Connector and method of assembling the same

A connecting apparatus wherein a porous silver plating layers are provided on surface pads of a printed circuit board and on a surface of a contact provided on the pads of a mother board. The plating layers are respectively impregnated with tin-zinc alloy and gallium. The electrical connection is established between the pads of the printed circuit board and the pads of the mother board through a liquid alloy by placing the plating layers in contact with each other. For the first printed circuit board having the pads and spacer, the gallium particles are adhered to the pads, while solder is temporarily adhered to the spacer. For the second printed circuit board having the pads and the connecting pads, tin or indium layer is provided on the surface of the pads, then the spacer of the first printed circuit board is positioned and fixed to the connecting pad of the second printed circuit board. Thus, electrical connection can be formed by way of the contact of gallium-tin or gallium-indium liquid alloy between the pads of both the printed circuit boards.

Connecting apparatus

An apparatus for connecting a high density cable assembly having a shield and to be connected to corresponding contact pins provided on a substrate having a grounding grid formed of conductive guides, each having a predetermined number of contact pins therein, including a connector to which the cable assembly is connected and which is to be mounted to the associated guide. The connector has a connector body, a connector cover surrounding the connector body, and a latching device provided between the connector cover and the connector body for easily latching and unlatching the connector to and from the associated guides.

Connector apparatus for high density coaxial cables

A sealed module includes a cold plate having a passage through which a cooling medium flows, a plurality of bellows structures having first ends which communicate with the passage in the cold plate to form a thermal conduction type cooling system and a plated printed circuit having a substrate and a plurality of integrated circuit elements provided on a first surface the substrate. The integrated circuit elements are in contact with ends of the bellows structures. A metal fitting secured on the cold plate has a flange disposed beneath the other surface of the substrate to present a junction between the second surface of the substrate and the flange of the metal fitting. A polyimide layer is formed on the surface of the substrate and a conductor layer is formed on the polyimide layer. The polyimide layer and the conductor layer are approximately ring shaped at least at the peripheral portions of the substrate. The flange of the metal fitting is fixed to the substrate by solder provided between the conductor layer and the flange, to thereby provide a seal between the substrate and the flange.

Module sealing structure

An electrical connector includes a plug having a number of contact pins and a jack having a number of receptacle contacts corresponding to the contact pins. Each of the receptacle contacts has a parallel portion and a widened portion. A contact pressing member having partition walls is movable in such a manner that, when the contact pressing member is in a first position, the partition walls are positioned at the parallel portions of the receptacle contacts to allow an easy insertion of the contact pins. When the contact pressing member is moved to a second position, the partition walls are moved to the widened portions of the receptacle contacts so that the gaps between the widened portions are narrowed. Therefore, the receptacle contacts are pressed into firm contact with the contact pins.
