A bank note dispensing method, in which, when a manually payable sum is included in the sum requested to be repaid, the sum other than the manually payable sum is discharged with the bank notes of preset or specified denominations from a bank note discharger so that they are temporarily stored in a temporary bank note storing place. The feeding operations of the manually payable sum are performed to confirm the manually payable sum so that the discharged bank notes can be taken out of the storing place. Also disclosed is a bank note dispersing apparatus, in which, when the bank note discharger is charged with the bank notes, the totalled sum of the bank notes is fed as an input for each denomination of the charged bank notes so that it may be stored in advance. The balance is calculated and stored each time the bank notes are dispensed. A warning is generated by an electric near-end mechanism when the balance becomes smaller than a preset value.

There is provided a money exchanger apparatus comprising exchange rate input means adapted to enter exchange rates used when exchanging moneys or securities of a single country or plural countries other than a specific country into the currency of the specific country, numerical value information input means adapted to enter numerical information such as the amount and kind of moneys or securities to be exchanged, memory means for storing numerical value information, computing means for calculating the amount and kind of currency of the specific country from the numerical value information indicative of moneys or securities of the country other than the specific country, said information being delivered by the numerical information storing memory means, and from the exchange rate stored in said memory means, and disbursing means for paying out exchange money of the specific country based on the results of computations performed by the computing means.

Money exchanger apparatus

A timing signal generating device operates in response to angular displacement of a rotating shaft. The shaft has a disc provided with a reference mark and a plurality of timing marks apart from one another in a circumferential direction. A first detector is located adjacent to the disc to detect the reference mark and to reset a shift register. A second detector is also located adjacent to the disc to generate timing pulses in response to the timing marks and supply the pulses to the shift register. Each of plural logic gates has two input terminals each of which is connected to an output of a predetermined step of the shift register, so that an output signal outputted from each logic gate to the corresponding driving circuit for an operating device constitutes a timing signal carrying information including starting and terminating times of operation.

Memory device including an input circuit adapted to provide signal pulses to be applied to an IC counter so that they are counted by the counter. Auxiliary power source is provided to supply the power circuit in the counter to maintain the memory therein despite interruption of power supply. A set-and-reset type flip-flop circuit is provided between the input circuit and the counter in such a manner that the signal pulses are applied directly to one of the set and reset terminals and through an inverter to the other of the terminals. The arrangement is effective to prevent counting error which may be experienced during interruption of power supply.

A device for detecting stacks of coins for use in a coins-packaging machine adapted to wrap each stack of a predetermined number of coins with wrapping paper, said device comprising a stacking cylinder of an electrically insulating material for receiving coins supplied through the upper inlet thereof and stacking the coins thus supplied face to face relation each other to form therein a stack of predetermined number of coins, an electrically conductive bottom plate disposed adjacent the lower open end of said stacking cylinder and adapted to support the stack of coins from the lower end and be removed therefrom for enabling the stack of coins to be discharged from the stacking cylinder into the next stage for wrapping, an electrode of cylindrical shape formed as part of inner wall of said stacking cylinder at a height of a little more distance than the height of said stack of coins from the lower end thereof, a relay and an electric power source therefor connected in series relation between said electrode and said bottom plate, whereby, when at least one coin of said stack is incorrectly positioned and the height thereof increases into contact with said electrode, electric current may flow through said stuck coins so that said relay may be energized to produce an output for detecting the incorrect stack condition of coins within said stacking cylinder.

Money counting machine comprising a switch which produces signal pulses corresponding to the counted number of coins, a plural-digit counter which receives said signal pulses from the switch and produces bit signals corresponding to digits representing the counted coins together with sequentially produced clock pulses corresponding to particular digits, NAND gates connected with the counter allow an output to pass therethrough and through a selector switch when the selected number of coins are counted, said output being used to effect state change of a flip-flop circuit for terminating the money counting operation.
