A capacitor module is provided between a power storage body and an inverter. The capacitor module comprises a first film capacitor and a second film capacitor that are wound. The first film capacitor includes a first outer peripheral surface. The second film capacitor is connected in parallel to the first film capacitor and includes a second outer peripheral surface opposed to the first outer peripheral surface. A space x between the first outer peripheral surface and the second outer peripheral surface meets a predetermined expression.

Capacitor module

An electric vehicle including a motor as a driving source includes: an accelerator; a pseudo shifter mimicking a gear changing operation; a pseudo clutch mimicking a clutch operation; a detector detecting an operation mode performed on each of the accelerator, pseudo shifter, and pseudo clutch by a driver, and a rotation speed of a driving wheel; a reaction force generator generating a reaction force in the pseudo shifter in response to a driver operation performed thereon; and a controller determining the reaction force. The controller includes a processor and a memory coupled thereto. The processor calculates a virtual differential rotation speed that is based on a virtual engine rotation speed, mimicking an engine rotation speed when the driving source is assumed as being an engine, and the rotation speed based on a detection result of the detector, and determines the reaction force based on the virtual differential rotation speed.

Electric vehicle

A power supply that supplies power to a capacitive load comprises: a converter; an inverter; a resonant transformer; a detector configured to detect output frequency or output current and output voltage; and a controller configured to control the inverter, wherein the controller is configured to: calculate output power; adjust the output frequency within a predetermined frequency search range, adjust the output voltage within a predetermined voltage search range, and specify, as a frequency target value, a minimum value of the output frequency with which the output power reaches predetermined output power; and control the inverter so that the output frequency will be the frequency target value, adjust the output voltage within the predetermined voltage search range, and specify, as a voltage target value, a value of the output voltage with which the output power is target output power.

Power supply, control program, and control method

A silencing device includes an intake air pipe, a silencer, and a heater. The intake air pipe communicates with a supercharging device configured to supercharge intake air to be sucked into an engine. The intake air pipe is configured to introduce the intake air into the supercharging device. The silencer is disposed in the intake air pipe, and configured to silence air flow noise. The heater is disposed in the intake air pipe, and configured to heat the intake air introduced through the intake air pipe.

Silencing device

An electric power steering apparatus includes; a DC brush motor, and a boss arranged between an output shaft of the motor and an input shaft driven by the motor, for transmitting a rotational force of the motor from the output shaft to the input shaft by the boss per se. A weight of the boss is equal to or larger than 10% of a weight of a rotor of the motor. An electric power steering apparatus includes; a DC brush motor and a boss arranged between the output shaft of the motor and the input shaft driven by the motor, for transmitting the rotational force of the motor from the output shaft to the input shaft by the boss per se. A moment of inertia of the boss is equal to or larger than 10% of a moment of inertia of the rotor of the motor.

Electric power steering apparatus

A starter apparatus comprises a mounting arrangement for an engine 16, an overhang type front housing 21, and a metal flange member 22 for mounting a starter main body. A sealing ring 23 and accommodating groove 22c are provided in the cast iron flange member, to avoid any weakening groove in the aluminum front housing. An excess number of screw holes 21a, 22b and 16a are provided in the front housing, the flange member and the engine to enable the mounting angle of the starter apparatus to be adapted to different engine requirements.

Starter apparatus with variable angle mounting

A planetary gear reduction starter has packing designed to absorb the variations in the axial dimension of a component, so that it eliminates the need of tight control of the axial dimension of the component and enables lower cost, higher productivity, and reduced size of the completed starter. The packing is constituted by an annular section, a jaw which extends in the radial, inward direction from one end of the annular section, and a plurality of projections which are laid out radially at equiangular pitches on the inner surface of the jaw and which have a semicircular section. The annular section of the packing is fitted around the outer peripheral surface of an internal gear assembly and the jaw is held in a compressed state between the end surface of the internal gear assembly and the side surface of the plate. The compressive deformation of the projections varies according to the axial dimension of the internal gear assembly or the plate, thereby absorbing the variations in the axial dimension.

Planetary gear reduction starter

The present invention relates to an automatic starting and stopping apparatus for an engine, which prolongs the lives of mechanical components such as a starter motor and which is applicable also to automatic vehicles. The automatic starting and stopping apparatus for an engine comprises a vehicle-to-vehicle distance sensor 29, which detects whether the distance from the preceding vehicle is less than a preset value, a signal color identifying and detecting device 30, which identifies whether the lit color of the signal is yellow or red, a car speed sensor 15, and a control circuit 31, which performs automatic start and stop of the engine in accordance with the detection results of the vehicle-to-vehicle distance sensor 29 and the signal color identifying and detecting apparatus 30. The control circuit 31 carries out automatic stop by cutting off the electric power to the engine ignition circuit 3 if the vehicle-to-vehicle distance is less than the preset value or the signal indicates a yellow or red light and also the car speed is zero, while it supplies electric currents to the starter 8 and the engine ignition circuit to implement automatic start when the vehicle-to-vehicle distance has reached the preset value or more or the lit signal color has changed from red to green.

Automatic starting and stopping apparatus for an engine

In an overhang type starter motor, an inner periphery of a front portion of a pinion 5 is engaged with a spline serration 2a formed at a front part of a pinion shaft 2; a spring 8 is disposed at a shoulder portion of an intermediate portion of the pinion 5 so as to urge the pinion 5 toward a pinion stopper 6; and the inner periphery of the rear part 5a of the pinion 5 is in slide contact with an outer diameter portion 2b of the pinion shaft so that the pinion does not incline when it comes to engagement with a ring gear of an engine.

Starter motor

An armature comprising a number of core sheets each having a number of slots and wherein a plurality of punched-in recesses for fitting are formed on the tail side of each core sheet and a plurality of punched-out protrusions for fitting provided by punching in said plurality of recesses are formed on the top side thereof, both by press-working; the core sheets being laminated by pressing the number of core sheets whereby said plurality of protrusions for fitting on the top side of each core sheet press-fit to said plurality of recesses for fitting on the tail side of a contiguous core sheet thereby positioning and integrally laminating the number of core sheets; wherein a plurality of protrusions for clearance each having a very small height are formed on the top side of each core sheet thereby providing a very small clearance between two of the contiguous core sheets.

Armature core

The end of a lead wire of a DC motor composed of twisted wires is formed into a flat shape by welding the twisted wires together, and is inserted or installed through a grommet with the smaller or shorter dimension of the flat shape oriented in the axial direction of the motor.

An electromagnetic switch comprising: an excitation coil wound around a bobbin made of a synthetic resin material; a yoke accommodating said excitation coil; a fixed core fixed inside of a first end side of said yoke; a magnetic path plate contacting an outer end of a flange at a second end side opposite to said first end side of said bobbin and fixed inside of said second end side of the yoke; a bush made of a nonmagnetic material and fixed in an inner periphery of the bobbin; a movable core movably supported in said bush in the axial direction thereof; and terminal means closed by urging to press said terminal means by a magnetic suction of said movable core to said fixed core; wherein a plurality of arms are extended in the axial direction from an inner peripheral portion of the bobbin at the second end side thereof; a receiving portion is formed at end portions of said respective arms integrally therewith; cut-off portions are provided for passing the respective arms therethrough at an inner peripheral portion of said magnetic path plate; and the retracted movable core is received by an inner end face of said receiving portion.

Electromagnetic switch

In a starter motor, its electromagnetic switch has a movable contact cooperating with normally open contact member and normally closed contact member, and a part of a stationary contact in the normally closed contact member is formed into a locking piece to prevent the movable contact from contacting the passage formed in the cap of the switch, or the electromagnetic switch has a first movable contact cooperating with normally open contact member and a second movable contact cooperating with normally closed contact member, and an insulating partition wall is disposed between the first and second movable contacts, whereby the creeping distance between the normally open contact member and the normally closed contact member is increased as much, and the occurrence of current leakage is prevented.

In a starter protective device, a sensor detects the operating conditions of the engine, a decision unit having a detecting section for detecting starting conditions and a controlling section for changing, according to the starting conditions provided by the detecting section, reference values for determining whether or not the engine has been started provides a start completion decision output when it is determined from the reference values that the engine is in operation, and in response to the start completion decision output the starter is deenergized, whereby the starter is lengthened in service life.

Starter protective device

A starter protector for a starter of an engine has a switching circuit which turns the starter off, and a calculating circuit which measures the frequency of ripples which are superimposed on either the terminal voltage or the terminal current of the starter and controls the switching circuit so as to turn off the starter when the frequency exceeds a prescribed value. In another form of the invention, a calculating circuit counts the number of ripples which are superimposed on the terminal voltage or terminal current of the starter and controls the switching circuit to turn off the starter when the number of ripples exceeds a prescribed value.
