A power reception device in a power transmission system including a power transmission device including a primary coil and the power reception device including a secondary coil, the power transmission device being configured to drive the primary coil and transmit AC power corresponding to a clock signal which is frequency-modulated according to a binary data signal, the primary coil and the secondary coil being electromagnetically coupled together to receive by the secondary coil in the power reception device, the AC power transmitted from the power transmission device, comprises a clock-signal extraction circuit configured to extract the clock signal from an induced voltage induced at one end of the secondary coil in receiving the AC power; and a demodulation circuit configured to generate a pulse synchronously with the clock signal extracted by the clock-signal extraction circuit, and demodulate the pulse to obtain the binary data signal.

Power reception device and power transmission system

A power transmission device in a power transmission system including the power transmission device including a primary coil and a power reception device including a secondary coil, the primary coil being electromagnetically coupled to the secondary coil, to receive in the power reception device AC power transmitted from the power transmission device, comprises a waveform monitor circuit configured to detect an electric potential at one end of the primary coil and output a waveform monitor signal formed by restricting the detected electric potential to an electric potential which is equal to or higher than a ground electric potential; a waveform detection circuit configured to detect a waveform change in the waveform monitor signal input from the waveform monitor circuit; and a data detection circuit configured to detect data transmitted by load change by a load modulation unit in the power reception device based on a result of detection of the waveform change detected by the waveform detection circuit.

Power transmission device and waveform monitor circuit for use in power transmission device

A plane coil which reduces an increase of an effective resistance in a high-frequency area and is made thinner is provided. The plane coil is equipped with plural conductive wires which are parallel to each other, wherein the conductive wires are arranged in a plane and spirally wound, and coil ends of the respective conductive wires are electrically connected to each other at coil lead-out portions and thus are connected in parallel. The conductive wires are arranged in plane, so that a coil thickness does not increase, and the coil is made thinner. Moreover, the plural conductive wires are connected in parallel, an increase of an effective resistance due to an influence of a skin effect in a high-frequency area is reduced.

A driving circuit drives a switching element such that an ON-period of the switching element is shorter when a power receiving device is detected not to be placed than when the power receiving device is placed.

Contactless power transmission circuit

A switching power supply includes an active device for pulling out a part of a control signal from a control terminal of the switching device in an RCC, and a control signal generation circuit that applies adjustment voltage as ON/OFF time control voltage to a control terminal of the active device. The active device pulls out the control signal so as to decrease or increase an OFF time of the switching device while fixing the ON time of the switching device when the adjustment voltage is decreased or increased in the active region of the active device, respectively. An element of a timing circuit in the RCC pulls out the control signal so as to increase or decrease an ON time of the switching device while fixing the OFF time of the switching device when the adjustment voltage is decreased or increased in the cut-off region of the active device, respectively.

Switching power supply

An emitter electrode is cooled by a cooler to generate condensed water which is charged by a high voltage applied between the emitter electrode and an opposed electrode and is discharged as a mist of charged minute water particles. A controller is provided to vary a temperature drop to a predetermined minimum temperature in dependence of an environmental temperature detected by a temperature sensor. The temperature drop is made variable in proportion to the environmental temperature. Accordingly, a sufficient amount of water can be condensed on the emitter electrode simply by controlling the cooling of the emitter electrode without relying upon an environmental humidity.
