A communication data protection method using a Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) reader, the method including: receiving, from a tag, tag information including security parameter information and an encrypted Unique Item Identifier (UII); extracting the UII based on the security parameter information; transmitting, to the tag, a request message including a challenge value for replay prevention; and performing a tag authentication by receiving, from the tag, a response message including a handle and the challenge value.

The RFID privacy control server, the RFID privacy control server includes a context-aware information collecting unit to collect at least one context-aware information about a user; a privacy level adjusting unit to adjust a privacy level of the user based on the collected context-aware information; and a privacy control unit to determine, according to the adjusted privacy level, whether access of an RFID reader to RFID tag information is allowed, the RFID tag information corresponding to an RFID tag associated with the user.

The method includes calculating an average image of each of a plurality of candidates having one or more face images to which different weights are given according to an order in which the face images are acquired and calculating a total average image of all face images of the plurality of candidates, calculating a between-class scatter matrix based on a difference between each candidate's average image and the total average image and a within-class scatter matrix based on a difference between each candidate's average image and each candidate's predetermined face image of the one or more face images, and generating a base vector that maximizes a criterion defined by a ratio between the between-class scatter matrix and the within-class scatter matrix.

Method and apparatus for extracting face feature

Provided are a method and an apparatus for accurately detecting positions of eyes in an input face image. The method includes extracting a symmetric face region from a face image based on magnitude and phase of gradient in each pixel of the face image; detecting available eye positions based on brightness information of the extracted face region; verifying regions around each of the detected eye positions with a classifier which determines whether an input image is an eye image using information obtained by supervised learning on sample images. According to the present invention, faulty eye detection is prevented by removing obscuring elements such as illumination, glasses and hair from an input face image. Also, eye coordinates can be extracted more accurately using an eye classifier.

Provided are a key establishment method and system using commutative linear functions. In the method, a server defines a set of linear functions that use elements of a first finite field as coefficients and satisfy a commutative rule, selects a first linear function from the set, and selects a predetermined element from a second finite field. Next, the server selects a second linear function corresponding to each of nodes from the set, generates a predetermined combination function based on the first and second linear functions, generates a value of the second linear function using the selected element as a factor, and transmits the combination function and the value of the second linear function to a corresponding node. Each node receives the value of the second linear function from a server, exchanges the received values with the other nodes, computes a value using the exchanged value as a factor of the combination function, and establishes the computed value as a shared key between the nodes. Therefore, each node can perform key establishment with a small amount of computation and low memory consumption, while guaranteeing end-to-end security.
