The invention constructs a system which vaporizes a liquid raw material in a vaporizing section and steam-reforms the vaporized raw material in a reforming section to generate hydrogen. A pressure regulating valve for regulating the pressure in the vaporizing section is disposed at anywhere from the vaporizing section to downstream of the reforming section. When a hydrogen requirement is increased, the pressure regulating valve is controlled to decrease the pressure in the vaporizing section. The pressure reduction makes it possible to promote vaporization in the vaporizing section such that the rate of generation of steam can be improved. Moreover, during start-up of the system, the control mode is changed to open the pressure regulating valve, thereby limiting the rate of increase in pressure just after the generation of reformed gas has started.

Hydrogen generating system

An ignition distributor includes a distributor housing having a cup-shaped cylindrical partition wall accommodated in an annular recess of a driven pulley mounted on an end portion of a camshaft, the partition wall having an annular bottom portion arranged in the annular recess to provide a circular opening, a distributor rotor of generally cylindrical shape fixed to the end portion of the camshaft and housed within the partition wall, the rotor having an annular flange formed at its outer periphery with an annular rim which is opposed to the annular bottom portion of the partition wall to form a first annular passage, and a distributor cap coupled with an open end of the partition wall to cover the rotor, the cap having a cylindrical extension wall extending therefrom into the interior of the partition wall and being arranged concentrically with the partition wall to form an annular space in communication with the first annular passage and a rotor space in which the rotor is arranged. The extension wall of the cap having an inner end slightly spaced from the annular rim of the rotor flange to form a second annular passage for communication between the annular and rotor spaces. The annular space is communicated with a source of negative pressure to discharge the air therefrom, while the rotor space is communicated with the atmospheric air to introduce fresh air thereinto.

Ignition distributor for internal combustion engine

An engine having a rotary valve arranged in the intake port. The valve shaft of the rotary valve is eccentrically arranged relative to the longitudinal axis of the intake port. A projecting wall projects downward from the upper wall of the intake port and surrounds the valve guide of the intake valve. The projecting wall has an air flow guide portion the thickness and width of which gradually decreases in the direction towards the rotary valve. The upstream end of the air flow guide portion is aligned with the valve plate of the rotary valve when the rotary valve is fully open.

Intake device of an internal combustion engine

A gear assembly having first and second gears in constant mesh with each other, the second gear being divided into two gear elements by a plane perpendicular to the axis thereof. A passage through which lubricating oil flows is formed between these two gear elements. The passage preferably consists of a radial groove formed on a surface of one of the two gear elements to extend in a radial direction from the inner surface of the gear element, an annular groove formed on the surface to extend in a circular direction about the axis of the gear element and communicate with the outer end portion of the radial groove, and a clearance formed between the two gear elements and surrounding the annular groove.

Gear assembly for transmitting rotation between two shafts

An intake manifold (2) for an internal combustion engine equipped with an exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system capable of recirculation a part of the exhaust gas to the intake system, having a configuration capable of preventing oil contained in the blow-by gas supplied by a positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system or the air supplied by a turbocharger from flowing into the EGR gas outlet (10) of the EGR system opened to the intake manifold (2). The EGR outlet (10) is formed in the upper section of the interior of the intake manifold (2) so that the flow of oil into the EGR gas outlet (10) is impeded.

Intake manifold for internal combustion engine having exhaust gas

An electromagnetic rotary driving device including a rotor of a permanent magnet arranged in a hole formed in a bored stator core block of a stator core, made from magnetic material. The air gap formed between the bored block of the stator core and the rotor in the direction parallel with the magnetic path in the stator core is relatively long, while the air gap formed between the bored block of the stator core and the rotor in the direction perpendicular to the magnetic path in the stator core is relatively short. In this device, the angle of rotation of the rotor is continuously changed by the current flowing through the coil of the stator without requiring a spring for return motion.

Electromagnetic rotary driving device

A device molding a link member interconnecting an actuator to arms fixed onto valve shafts of rotary valves arranged in gas passages. The link member includes a control rod connected to the actuator and a plurality of plate springs which extend from the control rod and are outwardly bent. The outer ends of the plate springs are pivotally connected to the tips of corresponding arms.

Device for driving a rotary valve

A solenoid valve for opening and closing a fluid passage is disclosed. It includes a valve member supported rotatably within a case and having alternately different magnetic poles formed on the outer periphery of one end thereof and also having a fluid passage formed in the other end thereof; an electromagnetic drive means for creating alternately different and invertible magnetic poles in an opposed relation to the magnetic poles of the valve member to rotate the valve member by a predetermined angle; and plural fluid passages formed within the case and adapted to be brought into communication with each other through the fluid passage of the valve member upon rotation of the valve member at said predetermined angle.

Solenoid valve

A rotary driving apparatus suitable for use for a flow control valve provided with a rotor valve rotatably mounted in a housing. The rotor valve is connected to a permanent magnet member. The permanent magnet member is arranged adjacent to a pair of diametrically spaced ends of a core on which a coil is wound so that the ends are oppositely magnetized to provide a two pole electric motor, stopper means is provided for allowing limited rotary motion of the rotor between a first position and a second position. The permanent magnet member is so arranged with respect to the ends of the core that a torque is, during the de-energization of the coil, generated in order to engage the stopper means. Thus, the first or second position of the rotor valve is maintained without energization of the coil.

Rotary driving apparatus

A solenoid type flow control valve having a valve body formed with an outlet and inlet ports, a cylindrical core disposed in the valve body between the inlet and outlet ports and formed with a suitable number of valve ports for connecting the inlet port with the outlet port, a valve member slidable along the outer surface of the core to cover the valve ports, a linear motor assembly for moving the valve member to uncover the valve ports, and fluid flow passages formed around the linear motor assembly so that the fluid from the inlet port is introduced through the passages into the valve ports.

Electromagnetic solenoid type flow control valve

A rotary drive apparatus including a frame having at least three holes; a yoke having a center portion and two side bar portions on opposite sides of the center portion, the center portion having a hole, coils mounted on the side bar portions of the yoke, a collar having a bore and being tightly mounted on the surface of the hole of the yoke, magnetic parameter changing elements being mounted on the surface of the bore of the collar, and a rotor having magnetic poles in the radial direction and being inserted into the bore of the collar with a predetermined clearance. In the apparatus, a first hole of the frame is parallel to a first direction of the apparatus and has a cross-section for tightly receiving the center portion of the yoke, and a second and third holes of the frame are in a second direction perpendicularly intersecting the first direction and being concentric with each other oppositely the first hole, the center portion of the yoke being fit into the first hole. The position of the collar is adjusted through the second hole during the adjustment, and the third hole passes a shaft connected to one end of the rotor.

Rotary drive apparatus with permanent magnets on the rotor and stator

A linear motor-actuated flow control valve includes: a casing having an inlet port and an outlet port; a moving-coil linear motor disposed within said casing, said linear motor including a hollow, ferromagnetic core which delimits the interior of said casing into valve chambers and which has a valve hole or holes for communicating said inlet and outlet ports with each other, a bobbin slidably disposed on said core for controlling the opening degree of the valve hole(s), an electromagnetic coil wound on said bobbin, a permanent magnet so arranged that the magnetic flux produced thereby extends axially of said electromagnetic coil, and a magnetic body for forming a magnetic circuit, in cooperation with said core, for the flux produced by said permanent magnet; and spring for biasing said bobbin so that said bobbin is retained at a predetermined position by said spring means when said electromagnetic coil is in the de-energized state, whereby said valve hole(s) is/are held open or closed to a predetermined degree, said spring serving as power supply lines for said electromagnetic coil, wherein the improvement comprises some of said valve holes, referred to a first valve hole(s), disposed at a position lying within said magnetic circuit along the length of said hollow ferromagnetic core, and a second valve hole(s) disposed at the other position(s) lying outside of said magnetic circuit along the length of said core.

Linear motor-actuated flow control valve

A rotary solenoid actuator for proportionally controlling the flow of fluid, such as air, in a pipe comprises a housing with a rotor rotatably mounted thereon. A stationary coreless coil for generating a magnetic field in response to a control current therethrough is mounted in the housing. A permanent magnet is affixed to a rotatably mounted shaft within the coil, and a return spring is attached to the rotating shaft. Due to low hysteresis in the coreless coil, there is a linear relationship between the control current and the fluid flow.

Rotary solenoid actuator

A rotary actuator for driving a fluid control valve comprises a yoke which forms a closed magnetic path an excitation coil which produces a magnetic flux in the yoke, a permanent magnet which is rotatably arranged in a through hole or in a slit formed in the yoke, and a restoring spring which produces a force acting against a rotational torque generated in the magnet by a main magnetic flux which flows through the yoke and the permanent magnet when the excitation coils is energized. Shielding portions are formed on both sides of the ends of the yoke, which ends oppose the permanent magnet, so as to substantially shield the permanent magnet together with the ends of the yoke, whereby a magnetic reluctance of a path of the magnetic flux remains substantially constant irrespective of the rotating position of the permanent magnet with respect to the yoke when the excitation coil is de-energized.

Rotary actuator

A linear motor-actuated flow control valve includes spring means for biasing a bobbin controlling valve hole opening degree in mutually opposing directions, to hold the bobbin at a middle opened position when an electromagnetic coil wound on the bobbin is deenergized. The bobbin is driven against spring means force in any opposing directions to increase or decrease the opening degree by applying a positive or negative energizing current to the coil.
