A gas to liquids process with a reduced COfootprint to convert both natural gas and a renewable feedstock material into fuels or chemicals. In one embodiment of the invention, a natural gas feed is converted into synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide. A minor portion of the hydrogen is thereafter extracted from the synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is converted to hydrocarbons in a Fischer Tropsch reaction. The Fischer Tropsch hydrocarbon product and a renewable feedstock are hydroprocessed with the extracted hydrogen in order to produce fuels and/or chemicals. Waste products from the renewable feed are recycled to produce additional synthesis gas for the Fischer Tropsch reaction.

Integrated fuel processing with biomass oil

A gas to liquids process with a reduced COfootprint to convert natural gas and a renewable feed stock material into fuels or chemicals. In one non-limiting embodiment of the invention, a natural gas feed is converted into synthesis gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide. A minor portion of the hydrogen is thereafter extracted from the synthesis gas. The synthesis gas is converted to hydrocarbons in a Fischer Tropsch reaction. The Fischer Tropsch hydrocarbon product and a renewable feedstock are hydro processed with the extracted hydrogen in order to produce fuels and/or chemicals. Waste products from the renewable feed are recycled to produce additional synthesis gas for the Fischer Tropsch reaction.

Renewable fuels co-processing

A process for converting carbonaceous materials or light hydrocarbon gases into products comprising predominately C5+ hydrocarbons. The process converts the feedstock into synthesis gas comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide and then uses the Fischer-Tropsch reaction to produce heavy hydrocarbons. A small excess of hydrogen is produced in the syngas generator or by water gas shift for use in product upgrading and for blending with Fischer-Tropsch tail gas for recycle back to syngas generation. A portion of the Fischer-Tropsch tail gas is used as fuel, thus purging combustible light gases and COfrom the tail gas. Hydrogen rich purge gas is blended into the remaining tail gas resulting in a recycle stream that is returned to the syngas generator. The tail gas components are therefore efficiently used to produce more products.

Enhanced GTL process

A process for producing transportation fuels, such as gasoline and diesel fuel, from syngas with a low H/CO ratio. The syngas is first converted to dimethyl ether which is then converted to gasoline by way of a dimethyl ether to gasoline process and to diesel fuel by way of a Fischer-Tropsch process.

Process for producing transportation fuels from syngas

TNT and nitramines, such as RDX, are recovered from mixtures containing same. The present invention more particularly relates to the removal of such mixtures from munitions and the separation of components contained in the munitions.

Recovery of nitramines and TNT from mixtures thereof

A continuous process for the separate recovery of TNT and RDX from a mixture of TNT and RDX. The mixture is introduced into a first vessel wherein TNT is separated from the RDX by use of a solvent that is effective for dissolving TNT but not RDX. The TNT in solvent is passed to a separation stage wherein the solvent is recovered a recycled to the first vessel. A slurry of RDX and water are passed to a second vessel where the water is displaced with a desensitizing agent for desensitizing RDX.

Recovery of TNT and RDX from bulk composition B explosives

A process for the production of a synthesis gas from a light hydrocarbon feed, steam and an oxygen-containing stream is provided in which the feed components are mixed to form a feed mixture. The process provides an inert disengaging zone separating the mixing zone from an active catalyst zone.

Process for production of synthesis gas using an oxygen-containing gas

A process for the startup of an ATR which does not contain an ignition means is provided. Also provided is a process to ascertain ATR catalyst activity prior to introduction of sufficient oxidant to form a flammable feed mixture.

Autothermal reformer reactor processes

A process for accessing and defusing munitions using fluid jet technology containing abrasive material and recovering the abrasive. The explosive material can also be removed from the munition casing by fluid jet technology, after the munition has been defused.

Process for accessing munitions using fluid jet technology

A process for regenerating a slurry Fischer-Tropsch catalyst, which needs regeneration, involves de-waxing and drying the catalyst sufficiently to produce a free-flowing catalyst powder that is fluidizable; fluidizing the catalyst powder; treating the catalyst powder with an oxygen treatment; reducing the catalyst powder with a reducing gas to form a reduced catalyst powder; and mixing the reduced catalyst powder with hydrocarbons to form a regenerated, slurry catalyst. The oxidation and reduction steps may be repeated. An oxygen treatment includes using a fixed Olevel with ramped temperatures, fixed temperatures with increased Olevels, or a combination.

Process for regenerating a slurry fischer-tropsch catalyst

A process for regenerating a slurry Fischer-Tropsch catalyst, which needs regeneration, involves de-waxing and drying the catalyst sufficiently to produce a free-flowing catalyst powder that is fluidizable; fluidizing the catalyst powder; treating the catalyst powder with an oxygen treatment; reducing the catalyst powder with a reducing gas to form a reduced catalyst powder; and mixing the reduced catalyst powder with hydrocarbons to form a regenerated, slurry catalyst. The oxidation and reduction steps may be repeated. An oxygen treatment includes using a fixed O level with ramped temperatures, fixed temperatures with increased O levels, or a combination.

A Fischer-Tropsch catalyst for the conversion of synthesis gas into Fischer-Tropsch products includes a stationary Fischer-Tropsch catalyst having a voidage ratio greater than approximately 0.45 or 0.6 and may further have a catalyst concentration for a given reactor volume of at least 10 percent. A Fischer-Tropsch catalyst has a structured shape promoting non-Taylor flow and/or producing a productivity in the range of 200-4000 vol CO/vol. Catalyst/hour or greater over at least a 600 hour run of a Fischer-Tropsch reactor with the catalyst therein. A system for converting synthesis gas into longer-chain hydrocarbon products through the Fisher-Tropsch reaction has a reactor for receiving synthesis gas directly or as a saturated hydrocarbon liquid or a combination, and a stationary, structured Fischer-Tropsch catalyst disposed within the reactor for converting at least a portion of the synthesis gas into longer-chain hydrocarbons through Fischer-Tropsch reaction. A Fischer-Tropsch reactor system having a structured Fischer-Tropsch catalyst may have an all-liquid saturated reactant feed, an all gas reactant feed, or a plethora of combinations therebetween. The systems may or may not include heat removal devices. Methods of manufacturing catalysts and converting synthesis gas are also presented.

A solvent extraction process for the separation recovery of TNT and RDX from Composition B-containing munitions. The munitions also contain liner materials, such as asphalt and binders, and sealers, such as wax, each of which are also recovered by use of solvent technology.

Reclaiming RDX and TNT from composition B and composition B containing military shells

A process for the conversion of a picrate salt, preferably ammonium pricrate, to picric acid by acidifying the picrate salt in a two phase liquid system. One phase is an aqueous phase which contains an acid which is effective for acidifying ammonium picrate to picric acid and the other phase is an organic solvent phase in which the picric acid is soluble.
