A mechanism for determining a probabilistic security score for a software package is provided. The mechanism calculates a raw numerical score that is probabilistically linked to how many security vulnerabilities are present in the source code. The score may then be used to assign a security rating that can be used in either absolute form or comparative form. The mechanism uses a source code analysis tool to determine a number of critical vulnerabilities, a number of serious vulnerabilities, and a number of inconsequential vulnerabilities. The mechanism may then determine a score based on the numbers of vulnerabilities and the number of lines of code.

Probabilistic mechanism to determine level of security for a software package

A method of data processing that converts a set of restricted terms, which is considered prohibited for use in source files, into an encrypted form, which prevents unauthorized users from reading the set of restricted terms. Further, the terms from a selected source file are encrypted with the same algorithm that was used on the set of prohibited terms. Then, a determination is made if the selected source file has one or more of the encrypted, restricted terms. In response to determining that the selected source file has one or more of the encrypted, restricted terms, an indication is given that the selected source file has one or more of the encrypted, restricted terms.

Identifying use of a restricted term in a source file

A computer implemented method, a computer program product, and a data processing system are provided for forecasting risks associated with installing software packages. A software package is selected for installation on a data processing system. The number of updates issued for each software package within the package list is determined within a specified past period of time. Based on the number of updates for the package list over the past period of time, an estimate of the number of updates likely to be issued over a specified future period of time is calculated. The number of updates estimated over the future period of time is an indicator of the risk associated with the installation of software packages on the package list.

Method for forecasting risks associated with software packages

A method, system, and program are provided for killing login-based sessions with a single action. In addition to issuing a session token to a client system upon login by a user to a network service, a personal token is issued to the client system. The personal token is executable at the client system to trigger accesses to a personal session controller and to automatically disallow the session token if the personal session controller indicates that the personal token is deactivated. The personal session controller enables an interface through which a user is enabled select to deactivate all active personal tokens with a single action, such that a user manages killing login-based sessions independent of the server system authorizing each login-based session and independent of the client system to which the login-based session was authorized.

Killing login-based sessions with a single action

An improved electronic whiteboard is provided. The improved electronic whiteboard includes a plurality of toggle switches along a vertical side for drawing vertical straight lines across the electronic whiteboard and a plurality of toggle switches along a horizontal side for drawing horizontal straight lines across the electronic whiteboard. When some or all the switches along the vertical side are turned on, vertical straight lines are drawn across the electronic whiteboard. Likewise, when some or all the switches along the horizontal side are turned on, horizontal straight lines are drawn across the electronic whiteboard. The intersections of the vertical straight lines with the horizontal straight lines form a plurality of grid cells. The electronic whiteboard contains means for determining the location of these cells.

An apparatus, system and method of importing data arranged in a table on an electronic whiteboard into a spreadsheet displayed in a computer system are provided. Generally, the spreadsheet and the table each include a plurality of grid cells. To determine where in the spreadsheet to display the data in the table, the location of the cursor in the spreadsheet is first established. This grid cell is used as a reference point. That is, data in the left-most/top-most grid cell on the table is displayed in the grid cell of the spreadsheet in which the cursor is located.
