Embodiments of the present disclosure are directed to a system and method for receiving first location information associated with a VoIP device having one or more geomagnetic sensor, wherein the first location information is determined using the one or more geomagnetic sensors based at least in part on the Earth's magnetic field, determining second location information associated with the VoIP device based at least in part on the first location information; storing the second location information in one or more databases; and transmitting the second location information to the VoIP device to establish a service.

A first interface includes a packet switched network connector mechanism. A second interface includes a public switched telephone network connector mechanism. A digital signaling mechanism and an analog signaling mechanism accompany the first and second interfaces.

A device simulates an emergency services test call based on an automatic number identification (ANI) to be tested, and generates a test notification associated with the emergency services test call. The device also automatically initiates the emergency services test call, receives results of the emergency services test call, and generates an emergency services call information report based on the results of the emergency services test call.

Implementations described herein may provide fax terminals that can communicate directly with one another over packet-based networks. In one implementation, a fax device may include a network connection configured to connect the device to a packet-based network. The fax device may further include a control unit. The control unit may, in response to a user command, transmit a facsimile document via the network connection and the packet-based network. The fax device may be implemented as a single integrated facsimile appliance.
