A water heating and treatment system includes a water heater operatively coupled to a water heater controller, a hot water outflow line from the water heater, and a cold water supply line to supply water to the water heater. The cold water supply line includes at least one of an anti-scale device operatively coupled to an anti-scale device controller, and at least one sanitation device operatively coupled to a sanitation device controller. The mixing station is operatively coupled to a mixing station controller. The mixing station supplies heated water to at least a first temperature zone at a first hot water temperature. Controllers of the water heater controller, the anti-scale device controller, the sanitation device controller and the mixing station controller are co-located at a front of a single enclosure behind an openable door, the controllers operatively coupled to a supervisory controller.

Compact water heating and treatment system

A water heating and treatment system with UV lamp water treatment sanitation for suppression of pathogens and undesired bacterial content in a domestic hot water system includes a water heater, and a cold water supply line to supply water to the water heater. The cold water supply line includes a UV sanitation lamp. A single or multiple temperature regulating mixing station supplies a temperature regulated heated water to one or multiple temperature zones. A three-way return water diverter valve provides a portion of a re-circulated hot water from a hot water recirculation line including a temperature sensor to the single or multiple temperature regulating mixing station and a remaining portion of the re-circulated hot water to the drain. A method for treating hot water to suppress pathogens and undesired bacterial content in a domestic hot water system is also described.

A heat exchanger base bracket of a selected fixed height or of an adjustable height bracket provides a support for a bottom of a heat exchanger, such that regardless of a height the heat exchanger, and within a range of different heat exchanger heights, a plurality of top mounted fluid inlets and outlets of the heat exchanger are disposed at about a same height above the base pallet. A water heater sanitation loop includes a sanitation loop pump to circulate hot water within the water heater. A three-way return water diverter valve allows for safe sanitation of a domestic hot water system by diverting over temperature re-circulated water away from the mixing valve to a drain, as needed. A method for treating hot water to suppress pathogens and undesired bacterial content in a domestic hot water system is also described.

A heat transfer device for transferring heat energy to or from a gas or fluid flowing radially across a plurality of posts or tubes includes a plate having a plate surface. A plurality of posts or tubes are disposed on and protrude substantially perpendicular to the plate surface. At least about 50% of the plurality of posts or tubes are disposed according to a phyllotaxis layout. Each arc of a plurality of phyllotaxis spiral arcs of the phyllotaxis layout terminates at different locations along an arc radius on the plate at a phyllotaxis arc termination radius less than a perimeter radius.
