A method and system encourage continued play of scratch-off lottery tickets remaining in a game after award of the seeded top prizes in the game. A total set of scratch-off lottery tickets for the game are subject to a single multi-tier prize structure that includes a top tier prize and a plurality of lower tier prize levels. Subsets of the total set of tickets each have a predetermined winning outcome at one of the lower tier prize levels. A first one of the subsets is divided into qualifying tickets and non-qualifying tickets, the qualifying tickets eligible for play in an additional game having a game prize at least equal to the top tier prize. The qualifying and/or non-qualifying tickets are provided with a printed mark that distinguishes the qualifying tickets from the non-qualifying tickets within the first subset. At redemption, the qualifying tickets are identified and entered into the additional game.

Scratch-off lottery ticket system and method to encourage continued game play after award of top prizes

A system and related methods for conducting a bonus game to a first primary game that enhances sales of tickets in an unrelated second primary game includes establishing the first primary game wherein players are issued first game tickets for play of the first primary game. A bonus game is established that is played separate from the first primary game. To qualify for entry into the bonus game, players enter at least one first game ticket from the first primary game. A second primary game is established wherein players are issued second game tickets that are linked to the bonus game for the first primary game such that players enhance the prize awarded in the bonus game by entering the second game tickets into the bonus game. Play of the first primary game does not require play of the bonus game or the second primary game. Play of the second primary game does not require play of the first primary game or the bonus game. Play of the bonus game requires play of the first primary game but not the second primary game.

Method and system to conduct a bonus game that links separate primary lottery games

A lottery game is linked to a televised game show having a plurality of mini-games followed by a final bonus game. An audience is defined for the game show composed of members from a plurality of different lottery jurisdictions, and audience members are selected for play of a plurality of mini-games conducted during taping of the game show. A plurality of substitute mini-games are separately conducted and taped such that at least one substitute mini-game having a winner from each lottery jurisdiction is taped and stored. One or more winners of the actual mini-games are selected for play of the final bonus. The original version of the taped game show is prepared for broadcast to all of the lottery jurisdictions. The broadcast intended for transmission to any lottery jurisdiction that does not have a winner of an actual mini-game in the original taped version is modified by inserting into the broadcast one of the substitute mini-games having a winner from the respective lottery jurisdiction.

Method and system for conducting and linking a televised game show with play of a lottery game

A system and method are provided for conducting a primary lottery game in conjunction with a televised game show and a play-at-home version of the show. In the primary lottery game, players purchase lottery tickets, with each ticket having a unique web code. Players of the primary lottery game become eligible to be a contestant in the show by accumulating a predefined set of game symbols in the lottery game. During broadcast of the game show, a plurality of game symbol codes are provided to at-home viewers of the show who are also players of the primary lottery game. The at-home viewers are able to access a website, enter the web code from their lottery ticket, enter one the game symbol codes broadcast with the game show, and play a web-based game to win a game symbol associated with the entered game symbol code.
