SI acquisition and paging for reduced capability NR devices

A user equipment (UE) in a wireless network may receive Downlink Control Information (DCI) that schedules Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) for non-codebook-based and/or codebook-based PUSCH operation. The UE may be configured with a Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resource set for each codebook-based operation and non-code-book-based operation. The UE may transmit using a codebook base operation in a first set of PUSCH occasions and transmit using a non-code-book-based operation in a second set of PUSCH occasions. The DCI may include multiple SRS Resource Indicator (SRI) fields pertaining to different sets of PUSCH occasions. Similarly, DCI may include information pertaining to a number of layers for precoding for a set of PUSCH occasions.

Beam management for physical uplink shared channels in dense deployments

Methods, apparatus, systems, architectures and interfaces for compressing hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) feedback bits performed by a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) receiving a transmit block (TB) including code block group (CBG) data are provided. The method includes receiving, by the WTRU, information associated with transmitting compressed HARQ-ACK feedback information, receiving, by the WTRU, a TB; determining, by the WTRU, a countdown downlink assignment index (CD_DAI) associated with the received TB; generating, by the WTRU, the compressed HARQ-ACK feedback information by compressing HARQ-ACK feedback bits associated with the received TB; and on condition that: (1) the CD_DAI is equal to zero or (2) the WTRU determines to provide feedback information, transmitting the compressed HARQ-ACK feedback information.

In an example, a wireless communications device may send information on a channel. The wireless communications device may receive, from a user equipment (UE), one or more ready to receives (RTRs). The wireless communications device may determine, based on a number of consecutive RTRs of the one or more RTRs, a listen before talk (LBT) mode. The LBT mode may be associated with staying or switching to a no receiver assistance mode or staying or switching to a receiver assistance mode.

Varied characteristics may include a start time for each repetition, a duration for each repetition, a start frequency for each repetition, a bandwidth of each repetition, a number of repetitions for each subframe, and/or a number of repetitions for each slot. Repetitions may be within a Bandwidth Part (BWP) or span multiple BWPs. Repetitions may vary from one to another in start time, start frequency, duration, bandwidth, and slot and subframe patterns. Higher level signalling, such as Radio Resource Control (RRC) signalling may be used to control the inclusion or omission of a DeModulation Reference Signal (DMRS) in repeated transmissions.

Coverage enhancement for reduced capability new radio devices

The exchange of resource allocation assistance information between a requester User Equipment (UE) and an assistant UE allows the requester to make better resource allocation decisions. The assistance information may include a blacklist, a whitelist, resource allocation information, a candidate resource set, and measurement information, for example. Both UEs may have an assistance configuration to assist in the exchange of resource allocation assistance information, that may be obtained from a third apparatus, such as a base station. The configuration may include information related to when to trigger assistance, identities of UEs, and types of assistance information, for example. The requester may, based on the assistance information received, modify a candidate resource set at a Medium Access Control (MAC) layer. The requester may, at the MAC layer, determine a configured sidelink grant for a selected destination using assistance information targeting this destination.

Multicast/Broadcast Service (MBS) for user equipments (UE) in Radio Resource Control (RRC) idle/inactive modes via signally of MBS frequency ranges and/or switching between frequency ranges as required. The beam grouping information may indicate a group of beams that the WTRU may report using group-based reporting. The group-based reporting may be a reduced level of reporting compared to a beam-based reporting. The group-based report may include measurement information for a representative beam. The representative beam may be one of the beams in the group or represents an average of the beams in the group. Alternatively, the representative beam may be a beam that has a maximum measurement value compared to other beams in the group. The group-based report may include a reference signal received power (RSRP) for the representative beam and a differential RSRP for each additional beam in the beam group.
