A latch for a vehicle seat may include a hooking component with a hook engagement surface, a first cam with a first cam engagement surface, and a second cam with a second cam engagement surface. The hooking component may be rotatable about a first axis and the first cam and the second cam may be rotatable about a second axis between an engaged position and an unengaged position. The hook engagement surface may contact at least one of the first cam engagement surface and the second cam engagement surface in the engaged position. One of the hook engagement surface or the first cam engagement surface may include a stepped surface extending incrementally from either the hook engagement surface or the first cam engagement surface.

Structural cam for latch

A seat track system for use in a vehicle seat assembly having a seat base frame. The seat track system includes a lower track assembly having a first lower track and a second lower track and an upper track assembly having a first upper track slidably disposed within the first lower track and a second upper track slidably disposed within the second lower track. The first upper track has a portion extending upwards that forms a first side member of the seat base frame and the second upper track has a portion extending upwards that forms a second side member of the seat base frame. The first upper track and the first side member are formed integrally to form a one-piece unitary member and the second upper track and the second side member are formed integrally to form a one-piece unitary member.

Seat track system

A recliner mechanism comprising a base plate having a plurality of contoured extension members and a central aperture; a pivot member coupled to the central aperture of the base plate; a cam member pivotably coupled to the pivot member; a first and second disc member positioned within the base plate and supported by the contoured extension members; a tooth plate having central aperture for coupling to the pivot member and an annular ring including a plurality of teeth; a first and second pawl member positioned within the base plate and supported by the contoured extension members, the first and second pawl members having a plurality of teeth for engagement with the teeth of the tooth plate and contoured sides for engagement with the base plate, cam member, first and second disc member, and the contoured extension members.

Recliner pawl member

A vehicle seating system including a seat back, a seat bottom, a track arrangement, a first carriage, and a second carriage is for use within a vehicle. The seat bottom is coupled to the seat back. The track arrangement is configured to be coupled to the vehicle. The first carriage is coupled to the seat bottom and is moveable within the track arrangement. The second carriage is coupled to the seat back and is moveable within the track arrangement. The second carriage and the first carriage are releasably coupled to one another so the second carriage is moveable relative to the first carriage when the coupling of the first carriage and the second carriage is released. The position of the second carriage relative to the first carriage is substantially fixed when the coupling of the first carriage and the second carriage is locked.

Vehicle seating system

A tube recliner mechanism for a vehicle seat having a reclining seat back includes an inner tube extending in a lateral cross vehicle direction and having inboard and outboard ends, an outer tube positioned around the inner tube, and a cylindrical spacer positioned between the inner tube and the outer tube. The relative rotational position of the inner and outer tubes is configured to change via rotation of one of the inner and outer tubes. The spacer, inner tube, and outer tube are all concentrically positioned to thereby reduce friction between the inner and outer tubes during relative movement between the tubes.

Recliner mechanism

An ultra compact, easy to operate folding vehicle seat includes a seat back, seat base and support leg members and is movable between a stow position and a design position. The folding vehicle seat includes a folding mechanism having an upper member for connection to the seat back and a lower member for supporting the seat base; the upper and lower members of the folding mechanism include integrated teeth aligned in meshing relationship such that movement of the seat back causes the lower member to rotate and lift the seat base to move the folding vehicle seat to a design position. A pair of upper cams are provided for selective engagement with the upper member and a third cam tab of the lower member of the folding mechanism.

Thin profile folding vehicle seat

A latch for use in a vehicle having a rear seat with a fold down seatback. The latch comprises a striker member coupled to the vehicle and a latch assembly coupled to the seatback and configured to releasably engage the striker member. The latch assembly comprises a catch plate configured with two prongs and pivotably mounted on a support plate. A hook plate with two camming surfaces is configured to engage at least one of the prongs with the hook plate pivotably mounted on the support plate. The movement of the engaged prong is restricted in any direction when the hook plate is in a locked position.
