Examples of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for providing more accurate skin assessments. These assessments can be used to produce custom recommendations that are tailored for the user's skin. Additionally, these example methods address privacy concerns of users, as its small focal distance, limited depth of field, and narrow field of view mean it can only image skin, and not the full face or body.

A cold plasma device generates cold plasma to treat an area of a biological surface. The device includes an array of cold plasma generators associated with a substrate. Each of the cold plasma generators has an electrode and a dielectric barrier. The dielectric barrier has a first side that faces the electrode and a second side that faces away from the electrode. A controller is operably coupled to the array of cold plasma generators and is programmed to control each of the cold plasma generators to generate a plasma dose.

Devices and methods for electrostatic application of cosmetics are described. In one embodiment, a system for electrostatic deposition of cosmetic material on a surface includes: a housing; a nozzle configured for breaking the cosmetic material into cosmetic particles and for directing the cosmetic particles out of the housing and toward the surface; and a reservoir configured for holding the cosmetic material. The reservoir is connected to the nozzle. The system also includes an airflow conduit configured to provide air to the nozzle; and a nozzle electrode configured proximately to the nozzle. The nozzle electrode is configured to charge the cosmetic particles.

Devices and methods for electrostatic application of cosmetics

Skin brush heads configured for use with a motorized personal appliance include a body having an inner surface and an outer surface, and a treatment applicator coupled to the outer surface of the body. The treatment applicator includes a plurality of cleansing agent-infused bristles extending away from the outer surface of the body, the plurality of cleansing agent-infused bristles being configured to remove particles from a skin portion by adsorption.
