Aerodynamic wheel covers may include a hub assembly coupled with a hub of a large vehicle, such as a truck. A base assembly may be coupled to the hub assembly, and a disk assembly may be coupled with the base assembly such that removal and installation of the disk assembly may be accomplished without tools.

Aerodynamic wheel covers and mounting assemblies

An aerodynamic system comprising a torsion tube, a first rotatory coupling coupled to the torsion tube and adapted to mount to a first wheel hub, a second rotary coupling coupled to the torsion tube distal from the first rotary coupling and adapted to mount to a second wheel hub, and a non-rotating fairing panel mounted to the torsion tube.

Torsion tube mounted aerodynamic system

Embodiments provide an aerodynamic fairing system that may comprise a base configured to mount to a vehicle, an arm coupled to the base at a proximate end and extending laterally, and a fairing mounted to the arm having an inboard and an outboard surface. The fairing outboard surface may provide an aerodynamic outer surface to direct flow to an angle to the rear. The arm may be a fixed or adjustable length arm. The arm may provide a mounting area for a mud flap such that aerodynamic system may act as a mud flap hanger. Embodiments also provide an adjustable mud flap hanger.

Aerodynamic system and adjustable fairings

A chassis mounted energy extraction and delivery system. In one embodiment, a gravity-referenced, external tire inflation facility is integrated into an aerodynamic fairing mounted on the chassis of a vehicle. In one other embodiment, a torsion bar coupled between a hub-mounted energy extraction or delivery facility and a selected portion of the chassis provides a cross-referenced fixed point of reference. In a dual-axle embodiment, a first end of the torsion bar is coupled to the hub of one axle and a second end of the torsion bar is coupled to the hub of the other axle. In a single-axle embodiment, the second end of the torsion bar is coupled to the chassis.

Chassis mounted energy extraction and delivery system

Embodiments provide an aerodynamic fairing system that may comprise a base configured to mount to a vehicle, an arm coupled to the base at a proximate end and extending laterally, and a fairing mounted to the arm having an inboard and an outboard surface. One embodiment comprises a fairing assembly adapted to couple to a vehicle, the assembly comprising: a support arm mountable to a frame rail of a vehicle and a fairing adapter adapted to mount a fairing to the support arm. The fairing adapter is rotatably coupled to the support arm and is rotatable from a first orientation corresponding to an aerodynamic position to a second orientation corresponding to a first access position. The fairing adapter may also be rotatable to a third orientation corresponding to a second access position. The assembly further comprises a releasable lock to lock the fairing adapter in the first orientation and releasable to allow the fairing adapter to rotate to the second orientation or the third orientation.

Rotatable aerodynamic fairing system

A fairing assembly comprising: a support arm mountable to a frame rail of a vehicle, the support arm comprising a first portion having a first outwardly extending protrusion and a second portion adapted to be received by the first portion, the second portion comprising a distal portion; a fairing adapter adapted to mount a fairing to the support arm, the fairing adapter rotatably coupled to the support arm and rotatable from a first orientation corresponding to an aerodynamic position to a second orientation, the fairing adapter defining a first channel adapted to capture the first outwardly extending protrusion when the fairing adapter is in the first orientation to prevent second portion of the support arm from separating from the first portion of the support arm; and a releasable lock to lock the fairing adapter in the first orientation.

A fairing assembly adapted to control flow proximate to a vehicle wheel, the fairing assembly having an aerodynamic outer surface to direct flow. The fairing assembly comprises a fairing having a fairing outboard surface. The assembly further comprises a fairing cap coupled to the fairing to cover at least a portion of the fairing outboard surface.

One embodiment comprises a fairing assembly adapted to couple to a vehicle, the assembly comprising: a support arm mountable to a frame rail of a vehicle and a fairing adapter adapted to mount a fairing to the support arm. The fairing adapter is rotatably coupled to the support arm and is rotatable from a first orientation corresponding to an aerodynamic position to a second orientation corresponding to a first access position. The fairing adapter may also be rotatable to a third orientation corresponding to a second access position. The assembly further comprises a manually releasable lock to lock the fairing adapter in the first orientation and releasable to allow the fairing adapter to rotate to the second orientation or the third orientation.
