A method of manufacturing a three-dimensional fiber-reinforced part utilizing the single-tool method of stereolithography. The tool is fabricated by designing the tool on a computer-aided design system and curing successive layers of a fluid medium via a computer-controlled irradiation source to form the three-dimensional tool. The desired part is generated by applying layers of resin-wetted fabric to the tool, curing the fabric on the tool, removing the tool from the designed part and cleaning, trimming and inspecting the designed part.

Method for manufacturing fiber-reinforced parts utilizing stereolithography tooling

A liquid coolant heat exchange system for use in semimonocoque aircraft includes an arcuate planar heat sink fixed along a radius of curvature R.sub.1 by forming members, a flexible arcuate planar spreader plate having a radius R.sub.2, such that R.sub.1 &gt;R.sub.2, a heat exchange tube for transferring heat from the liquid coolant to the heat sink and means for attaching the spreader plate to the forming members to hold the spreader plate in contact with the heat sink.

There is described a vehicle door assembly with shear layer control for controlling the airflow in and around an aperture in the vehicle fuselage. The vehicle door assembly consists of an upper door and a lower door, both slidably mounted to the exterior surface of the vehicle fuselage. In addition, an inner door is slidably mounted beneath the upper door. Beneath the inner door is an aperture assembly having an aperture opening positionable to be substantially flush with the exterior surface of the vehicle fuselage. Also provided are means for positioning the aperture assembly in an upward and downward direction in relation to the vehicle fuselage.

A single-tool manufacturing process utilizing a stereolithographic tool for fabricating flexible reinforced rubber parts. The stereolithographic tool is fabricated using a laser and computer-controlled optical scanning system. Then fabric and resin are manually applied to the tool. The stereolithographic tool is utilized like a mold, with successive layers of fabric and resin applied thereto. After curing, the mold is shattered and removed from the designed part.

Method for manufacturing fiber-reinforced parts utilizing

A closure element for use in circular ducts for controlling the flow of material in the duct. The element has a unique unitary shape which allows installation within the confines of the duct with minimum distortion of the duct cross-section when the valve is open. This results in a very low pressure drop through the valve. Because the closure element geometry is such that the element pivots from the duct wall solely within the confines of the duct, the valve is well suited as a check valve.
