The present disclosure relates to a signal processing device and an image display apparatus including the same. A signal processing device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: an input interface to receive an image signal; a first image processor to generate first image frame data based on the image signal; a second image processor to generate second image frame data scaled down from the first image frame data based on the image signal; and an output interface to receive the first image frame data from the first image processor and the second image frame data from the second image processor and to output the first image frame data and the second image frame data, wherein the first image frame data output from the output interface is more delayed than the second image frame data output from the output interface. Accordingly, a timing controller may accurately and rapidly perform signal processing for a panel.

A signal processing device and an image display apparatus including the same according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: an afterimage analyzer to calculate image accumulation information based on an input image, an afterimage learning processor to perform learning based on the image accumulation information and adjust an afterimage reducing strength based on the learning, and an afterimage reducing processor to perform an afterimage reducing process based on the afterimage reducing strength from the afterimage learning processor. Accordingly, an afterimage of the image display apparatus including the organic light emitting diode panel may be reduced.

The present disclosure relates to a display device and an image display apparatus including the same. A display device according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises a backlight, a first TFT panel, a second TFT panel, and a color filter wherein, while a first voltage is applied, a second voltage higher than the first voltage is applied in response to an object within an image frame data input to the display device; while a third voltage is applied, a fourth voltage higher than the third voltage is applied in response to the object within the image frame data input to the display device; and in response to movement of the object, a fifth voltage higher than the second voltage is applied, and a sixth voltage higher than the fourth voltage is applied. Accordingly, luminance expression power may be improved.

The present disclosure relates to a signal processing device and an image display apparatus including the same. The signal processing device includes: an input interface to receive an image signal; a first image processor to generate first image frame data based on the image signal; a second image processor including a scaler to generate second image frame data scaled down in comparison with the first image frame data; and an output interface to output the first image frame data and the second image frame data, wherein the scaler generates at least one super pixel or super block and outputs the scaled down second image frame data including the super pixel or the super block. Accordingly, it is possible to generate the scaled down second image frame data with reduced error as compared to the first image frame data.

A display device according to an embodiment of the disclosure comprises: a linear gamut mapping unit for deriving a linear gamut mapping result for matching a gamut of an input image signal to a target display gamut; a non-linear gamut mapping unit for deriving a non-linear gamut mapping result for matching the gamut of the input image signal to the target display gamut; and a mixing unit for generating an output image signal by mixing the linear gamut mapping result and the non-linear gamut mapping result. The disclosure may provide an optimal gamut mapping result that is intended by a user and an originator.

Display device and image processing method thereof

An image display apparatus includes a display, an image receiver to receive a high dynamic range image, and a controller to set luminance information of an image to be displayed based on brightness information of the high dynamic range image and information about a luminance that is displayable on the display and to perform control to display an image having a luminance adjusted based on the set image luminance information. Accordingly, the image display apparatus is capable of converting and displaying the high dynamic range image so as to match the luminance that is displayable on the display.
