A method in an aircraft of using prognostic indicators for aircraft maintenance includes retrieving aircraft health data for a plurality of aircraft components wherein the aircraft health data includes at least one of mechanical systems condition indicator (CI) data, vibration spectrum data, resampled time-domain (RTD) data, and RTD spectrum data. The method includes estimating component health status information for the plurality of aircraft components using a plurality of prognostic modules wherein each prognostic module is configured to generate health status information for at least one of the aircraft components, the health status information includes at least one of a current health indicator and a prognostic indicator. The method also includes storing the component health status information for the aircraft components in a database onboard the aircraft, and causing the display of the health status information for the specific component on an aircraft display.

A workflow management system for managing the storage, retrieval, and transport of items in a warehouse includes a voice-directed mobile terminal. The system also includes a server computer in communication with the voice-directed mobile terminal. The server computer includes a tasking module for transmitting task data to the voice-directed mobile terminal. The server computer also includes a workflow-analysis module for generating, based at least in part upon an analysis of workflow dialog between the voice-directed mobile terminal and the user, performance data relating to the performance of tasks associated with the storage, retrieval, and/or transport of the items.

Logistical operations (e.g., warehouses) may use a voice-enabled workflow to facilitate the work tasks of a staff (i.e., population) of workers. Typically, it is necessary for a worker to travel from location-to-location to complete assigned work tasks. As such, a worker's time spent travelling often correlates with the worker's overall work performance. Understanding the worker's travel performance is highly desirable, but computing a fair and accurate travel-performance metric is difficult. One reason for this is that the distance a worker travels is often unknown. The present invention embraces a system and method for accurately and fairly assessing a worker's travel performance by analyzing the worker's voice dialog.

Process for measuring emission for a flame in an open combustion environment. A captured image is received from each of a plurality of image capturing devices in at least one selected spectral band. Each of the plurality of image capturing devices is trained on the flame from the combustion process from a different perspective view angle. A spectral path length of the flame in the at least one spectral band is estimated from the captured images. Emitted radiance of the flame is estimated from the captured images, and a temperature of the flame is estimated from the estimated emitted radiance. A gas species concentration of the flame is estimated from the temperature of the flame and the spectral path length of the flame. Emission for the flame is measured from the gas species concentration.

Equipment and method for three-dimensional radiance and gas species field estimation in an open combustion environment

A flame detector includes a beam splitter to split mid-wave infrared radiation (MWIR) and long-wave infrared radiation (LWIR) into an MWIR component and an LWIR component. An MWIR detector detects the MWIR component and an LWIR detector detects the LWIR component. The flame detector analyzes the MWIR component to determine the presence of a flame and analyzes the LAIR component to determine whether the system is functioning properly.

Systems and methods for detecting motion in compressed video are provided. Some methods can include parsing a stream of compressed video, obtaining macroblock size information from the parsed stream, computing factors derived from the macroblock size information, computing adaptive threshold values derived from relative frame characteristics of the compressed video, comparing the factors derived from the macroblock size information with the adaptive threshold values, and detecting motion based upon the comparing when at least one of the factors exceeds at least one of the adaptive threshold values. In some embodiments, detecting the motion can include performing spatio-temporal filtering on macroblocks in which the motion is detected or performing spatio-temporal filtering on at least one non-motion macroblock.

Devices, methods, systems, and computer-readable media for a multispectral band system are described herein. One or more embodiments include a filter comprising a first designated transmittance value for a first wavelength range and a second designated transmittance value for a second wavelength range, a sensor to receive transmitted radiation from the filter, and a computing device coupled to the sensor to detect any radiation within the first and second wavelength ranges from the received transmitted radiation from the filter and wherein the detected radiation in the first wavelength indicates a particular type of radiation source and detected radiation in the second wavelength range indicates one or more other items within a field of view of the received radiation.

Multispectral band system

Embodiments of the disclosure include systems and methods for detection of background and foreground radiances captured by a multispectral imaging device. In some embodiments, a multispectral imaging device may generate a plurality of images of the same field of view, wherein the images may be captured at a variety of wavelengths. These images may be processed to identify any incidents, such as fire and/or gas leaks, within the field of view of the imaging device.

A process is provided for mapping temperatures in an enclosure during a combustion process. A device setting of an image-capturing device is provided. An intensity-temperature mapping is generated by performing an intensity-temperature calibration based on an intensity of an image pixel in a field of view (FOV) generated by the image-capturing device, a corresponding temperature measurement, and a selected device setting. Each emitted radiation of selected regions is detected based on a first image in the FOV. At least one region is determined whether the region is poor responsive, based on the intensity-temperature mapping associated with the device setting. The at least one poor responsive region is replaced with acceptable regions unaffected by the saturation from at least one other image captured at a different device setting for higher temperature resolution.

A process is provided for mapping temperatures in an enclosure. A spectral band for a multi-spectral image-capturing device is selected. An intensity-temperature mapping is generated by performing an intensity-temperature calibration based on an intensity of an image pixel in a field of view (FOV) generated by the multi-spectral image-capturing device, a corresponding temperature measurement, and a selected device setting of the image-capturing device. An emitted radiation is detected based on a first spectral image in the FOV. At least one region is determined whether it is poor responsive, which is underexposed or overexposed, such that an accurate temperature is unable to be estimated based on a temperature value associated with the spectral band. Temperatures of the at least one poor responsive regions are replaced with temperatures from corresponding acceptable regions from at least one other spectral image to provide an extended temperature mapping of the enclosure.
