A ball launcher for dispatching balls into a wellbore that includes a manifold for selective attachment to a wellhead assembly and a magazine mounted on the manifold in which the balls are stored for distribution to the manifold. Chambers are provided in a cylinder in the magazine, so that by rotating the cylinder the chambers register with a bore in the manifold, through which the balls are delivered to the wellbore. Flowing a flushing fluid into the bore in the manifold urges the balls downward. An auxiliary line through the manifold provides a conduit for the flushing fluid into the bore.

Method and apparatus for launching multiple balls in a well

A landing ring having at least one scallop groove formed on an interior of the ring. The landing ring interfaces with a fluted mandrel casing hanger such that the scallop groove aligns between flutes of the hanger. This alignment of the scallop groove of the landing ring with the fluted mandrel casing hanger provides sufficient clearance to allow a stabbing in of a cement tube for cement injection during cement topping operations or debris clean out down hole.

Scalloped landing ring

A valve assembly connects into a drill string for opening and closing at least one inner passage within the drill string of the drill string. The valve assembly includes an annular valve assembly carried in an annular passage that moves between the open and closed positions in response to downward fluid pressure from the surface through the annular passage. The valve assembly also includes an inner valve assembly carried in an inner passage of the drill string. The inner valve assembly is a two-way valve that is actuated between open and closed positions by pressure pulses from the surface through the inner passage. The valve assembly can be used within coiled tubing.

Drill string shutoff valve

A method of cleaning debris from a string of production tubing in a well enables removal without pulling the string of rods that extend through the tubing. A rotary pump is suspended to a lower end of the tubing for pumping well fluid through the tubing to a wellhead at the surface. A motor assembly at the surface rotates the rods to drive the pump. A closure member is placed on a lower end of an elastomeric hose that will open when a selected level of internal fluid pressure is applied. The operator applies internal pressure to the hose at a pressure less than the selected level to increase rigidity of the hose. The operator inserts the hose through a port in a sidewall of the wellhead, the hose deflecting downward and into the tubing. At a desired point, the operator increases the internal pressure in the hose to open the closure member, then discharges a cleansing fluid into the tubing, which flows back up the tubing along with debris.

Remedial system to flush contaminants from tubing string

A valve assembly connects into a drill string for opening and closing a passage within the drill string. The valve assembly has an inner valve member for opening and closing an inner passage of the drill string. The valve member moves between the open and closed positions in response to axial movement of the drill string. Lifting the drill string causes the upper portion to move upward relative to the lower portion, bringing along with it the valve member, while the valve sleeve remains stationary with the lower portion, opening the valve. The valve assembly can include an annular valve assembly for opening and closing an annular passage located around the inner passage. The annular valve assembly is opened and closed by increasing the pressure in the annular passage above the annular valve assembly.

The valve member moves between the open and closed positions in response to axial movement of the drill string. The valve member has an upper portion and a lower portion. A valve member and valve sleeve are located within an inner passage. Lifting the drill string causes the upper portion to move upward relative to the lower portion, bringing along with it the valve member, while the valve sleeve remains stationary with the lower portion, opening the valve.

In an integral production pumping tree, the bottom connection, blow-out preventer, flow tee and top connection are positioned to one side, with the vertical rod bore off-center. Up to three vertical ports are provided in the other side of the tree, for providing access to the production casing bore for an electric heating string, an instrumentation string and a small diameter injection tubing string. The ports accommodate sealed connection assemblies, from which the strings extend. The upper portion of the other side of the tree is cut away to create space for introducing the connecting assemblies. The tubing hanger is provided with matching bores.
