A hybrid vehicle is provided and includes an input that receives user selection for terrain mode and a HSG connected to the engine to operate as a start motor to turn on the engine. The HSG operates as a generator that performs idle charging when the engine is turned on. A battery is electrically connected to the HSG. A controller configured perform idle charging when SOC of the battery is less than or equal to a first SOC through the HSG by turning on the engine.

Hybrid vehicle and control method thereof

A system and a method of controlling a hybrid electric vehicle shift are disclosed. The system includes an engine and a drive motor operating as power sources and a transmission receiving driving torque from one of the engine and the drive motor. A data detector detects a state data for operating the transmission. A vehicle controller calculates a creep torque and an engine setting torque using the state data, determines whether a shift control condition is satisfied based on a position value of an accelerator pedal, calculates an available motor torque using a motor speed at an actual shift start point and a target motor speed when the shift control condition is satisfied, and calculates a first shift input torque using the creep torque, the engine setting torque, the available motor torque, and a first torque apply ratio. The transmission is operated based on the first shift input torque.

System and method of controlling shift for hybrid electric vehicle

An engine clutch control apparatus of a hybrid vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes an engine clutch that is disposed between an engine and a drive motor to selectively connect the engine and the drive motor and an integrated starter-generator that is connected with the engine to start the engine or to generate electricity. A vehicle controller releases or couples the engine clutch to implement a driving mode and determines a chargeable torque and an engine target estimation torque based on a generator rotation speed of the integrated starter-generator. An engine target torque and a charge torque are set based on the chargeable torque and a clutch input torque is generated using at least one of the engine target torque, an engine friction torque, and the charge torque. The engine clutch is then released when the clutch input torque is less than a reference value.

Apparatus and method for controlling engine clutch of hybrid vehicle

A method and an apparatus for controlling a hybrid electric vehicle including a dual clutch transmission are provided. A method for controlling a hybrid electric vehicle including a dual clutch transmission (DCT) may include: determining whether an engine start condition is satisfied in a state in which an engine is stopped; determining whether a slip control entry condition of a shift clutch of the DCT is satisfied when the engine start condition is satisfied; increasing a speed of a driving motor by slipping the shift clutch when the slip control entry condition is satisfied; determining whether a lock-up condition of an engine clutch is satisfied while increasing the speed of the driving motor; locking up the engine clutch when the lock-up condition of the engine clutch is satisfied; and increasing engagement force of the shift clutch when the engine clutch is locked up.

Apparatus and method for controlling hybrid electric vehicle including dual clutch transmission

A control method of a hybrid vehicle is provided and includes determining whether a current vehicle driving mode is an EV mode, whether a current vehicle driving state satisfies a kick-down shift condition, and whether the current vehicle driving state satisfies a driving mode conversion condition for conversion into an HEV mode. The engine is started when the kick-down shift and the driving mode conversion conditions are satisfied. A current motor speed and discharging power of the battery are measured. The measured motor speed and predetermined motor reference speed are compared based on discharging power of the battery. A transmission input shaft target speed for the kick-down shift is calculated and compared to a predetermined transmission input shaft target reference speed based on discharging power of the battery. A control order is determined based on the comparisons and the kick-down shift and the engagement of the engine clutch are performed.
