A kitchen utensil is disclosed as including a body member, a switch member, and a suction member, wherein when said suction member rests on a support surface, said switch member is swivellable relative to said body member and said suction member between a first position in which the space between said suction member and said support surface is of a first volume and a second position in which at least part of said suction member is moved away from said surface whereby the space between said suction member and said support surface is of a second volume which is larger than said first volume to releasably secure said utensil to said support surface.

A dispenser for flowable material includes a cylinder, a piston in and slidable along the cylinder for pressing and thus dispensing flowable material contained in the cylinder, and a shaft extending into the cylinder for sliding the piston. The shaft incorporates a thumb piece for engagement by the thumb of a user to drive the shaft in a forward direction into the cylinder for sliding the piston to dispense flowable material. The thumb piece is slidable along the shaft. A unidirectional clutch between the thumb piece and the shaft is operable in the forward direction to fix the thumb piece to the shaft such that the shaft may be driven forward by the thumb piece and is inoperable in an opposite, rearward, direction to release the thumb piece from the shaft such that the thumb piece can slide rearward along the shaft for operation at another position.

Dispenser for flowable material

A food cutting device has a bowl, two cutting blades supported in the bowl for rotation relative to each other, and a drive mechanism supported by the bowl for rotating the cutting blades to cut food in the bowl. The cutting blades are rotatable in opposite directions relative to each other to perform a scissors-like cutting action.

A cutter includes radial cutting blades connected by a hinge about which the blades may be rotated between collapsed and extended positions. A rotary body and rotary cap form a handle which holds the inner ends of the blades. The members are mounted for rotation about the hinge axis relative to free blades. Circumferentially spaced stop faces on the body are spaced apart in the axial direction. Circumferentially spaced abutment faces on the cap are spaced apart in the radial direction. The abutment-engaging faces of adjacent free blades are correspondingly spaced apart in the radial direction. To extend the blades, the cap is rotated relative to the body, with the cap and body holding the portions of each free blade between a respective stop face and abutment face for locating the free blades in the extended positions.

A food cutting device for cutting food items into smaller pieces, comprises a receptacle having an entrance though which food items can he introduced into the receptacle and an exit though which smaller pieces of the food items can be dispensed from the receptacle, a rotary cutter in the receptacle for cutting the food items into the smaller pieces, and a handle connected with the receptacle, for holding and carrying the food cutting device with only one hand of a user. A driving mechanism is located between the cutter and the handle for manual operation by the user to operate the cutter, including an operating member that is located at or adjacent to the handle for movement and operation by the hand holding and carrying the food cutting device.

A can opener () has two pivotal handles (and), a traction wheel () and a cutter blade () movable by respective handles (and) for cutting open a can, and a pivotable lever (). There is a ratchet assembly () driven by the lever () upon reciprocation for operating the traction wheel () and cutter blade (), which has a ratchet wheel () connected with the traction wheel () and a spring-loaded pawl () movable by the lever () for turning the ratchet wheel () in a driving direction (D) upon reciprocation of the lever (). The pawl () has front and rear ends (and) taken in the driving direction (D), with the front end () in engagement with the lever () and the rear end () engageable with the ratchet wheel () for turning the same.

A pulpifier includes a holder having a compartment and a rear handle. A perforated screen is located in the compartment. A presser extends into the compartment and moves towards the screen. A front clamp extends from the holder for affixing the holder to a vessel supporting the pulpifier.

A food masher includes a support frame having an opening, a hopper having a perforated floor, received detachably by the support frame within the opening, a handle extending from the support frame, a lever extending pivotally from the support frame, and a plunger attached to the lever and extending into the hopper.

A can opener has two pivotable handle members and a traction wheel and a rotary cutter movable by the handle members respectively between an inoperative position in which the wheel and cutter are spaced apart for mounting onto a can and an operative position in which they are close together for turning and cutting the can. An operating lever is pivotable back and forth. A first ratchet assembly is driven by the lever upon pivotal movement in one direction for rotating the wheel in one direction. There is also a second ratchet assembly driven by the lever upon pivotal movement in the opposite direction for rotating the wheel in the same direction. Upon pivotal reciprocation, the lever rotates the wheel in the direction operating the wheel and cutter continuously, turning and cutting the can.

An avocado slicer having a handle, a curved blade, and a plurality of internal cutting blades. The blade separates the meat of the avocado from the peel while the internal cutting blades simultaneously slice the meat into separate slices. In a preferred form, the avocado slicer includes an adapter with an integrally formed internal handle, all constructed from plastic. The adapter includes internal ribs and channels configured to receive and firmly retain the base of the blade. A santoprene outer handle is over-molded onto the internal handle to provide a non-slip grip.

Food cutter

An egg yolk separator includes a strainer having a portion for retaining an egg yolk and apertures for straining egg white. A pair of arms extends in opposite directions from the strainer for resting on opposite sides of an opening of a vessel, locating the separator on the vessel. One of the arms is extendable and retractable in length such that overall length of the separator is adjustable to suit the width of the opening of the vessel.
