A display device includes a display element layer including a first electrode layer, a light-emitting layer disposed on the first electrode layer, and a second electrode layer disposed on the light-emitting layer, a capping layer disposed on the second electrode layer, a protective layer disposed on the capping layer and covering a portion of the second electrode layer exposed by the capping layer, an optical compensation layer disposed on the protective layer, and an encapsulation layer disposed on the optical compensation layer. The refractive index of the optical compensation layer is lower than that of the protective layer.

Display device with optical compensation layer of low refractive index and method of manufacturing the same

A display device includes: a substrate; a display element on the substrate; a thin-film encapsulation layer on the display element, the thin-film encapsulation layer including at least one inorganic layer and at least one organic layer; and a lower layer below the thin-film encapsulation layer, the lower layer including a first surface parallel to an upper surface of the substrate and a second surface extending in a direction crossing the upper surface of the substrate. A display device includes a display device including a substrate, and a display unit disposed on the substrate. An encapsulating unit encapsulates the display unit. The encapsulating unit includes a barrier organic layer. The barrier organic layer includes a plurality of organic materials and a plurality of inorganic materials. The inorganic materials are arranged in free volumes between the organic materials.

Display device and method of manufacturing the same

A display device includes a substrate, a switching element on the substrate, a pixel electrode disposed on the switching element and connected to the switching element, a light emitting layer on the pixel electrode, a common electrode on the light emitting layer, and a sealing portion on the common electrode. The sealing portion includes an organic layer, and at least one first composite inorganic layer disposed between the organic layer and the common electrode. The at least one first composite inorganic layer includes a first inorganic layer between the common electrode and the organic layer, and a second inorganic layer between the first inorganic layer and the organic layer. A refractive index of the first inorganic layer and a refractive index of the second inorganic layer are different from each other, and the first inorganic layer and the second inorganic layer contact each other.

A display apparatus includes a substrate, a display area disposed on the substrate and including a plurality of pixels, a first planarization layer disposed on the substrate, a second planarization layer disposed on the first planarization layer, a pixel-defining layer disposed on the second planarization layer and covering at least one edge of a first electrode of each of the plurality of pixels, a plurality of first holes disposed between the plurality of pixels and spaced apart from the first electrode, and a first etching prevention layer disposed on a bottom surface of each of the first holes and on the first planarization layer.
