A display device includes a display panel including a display area and a non-display area adjacent to the display area, a bottom member including a bottom part facing the display area, a side part extending from the bottom part toward the display panel, and a support part extending from the side part to face a portion of the display area and the non-display area, a plurality of light sources on the bottom part to emit light, and a light guide member between the support part of the bottom member and the display panel to guide the light incident from the plurality of light sources toward the display panel.

Display device with edge light guide

A curved display device includes a display panel which is curved with respect to a central axis of the curved display device to define a display surface which is curved with respect to the central axis of the curved display device; a first adhesion member attached to an edge area of a bottom surface of the display panel; a mold frame which is curved with respect to the central axis of the curved display device, the mold frame defining a stepped portion on which the display panel is seated; and a second adhesion member attached to a top surface of the stepped portion and to the first adhesion member which is attached to the edge area of the bottom surface of the display panel.

Curved display device and method for manufacturing the same

A display device includes a display panel, a light source which generates light, a light guide plate which receives the light and guides the light to the display panel, the light guide plate defining a side surface thereof, an accommodating member accommodating the light source and the light guide plate therein, the accommodating member including a sidewall, and a fixing member in plural between the sidewall of the accommodating member and the side surface of the light guide plate. The fixing member defines a supporting portion thereof contacting the side surface of the light guide plate, fixing portions fixed to the sidewall of the accommodating member and spaced apart from each other, and a connecting portion provided in plural and connecting an end among opposing ends of the supporting portion to a fixing portion among the fixing portions, the fixing portion forming an acute angle with the connecting portion.

Backlight unit and display device including the same

A backlight assembly includes a plurality of point light sources, a light guide plate ('LGP') and a printed circuit board ('PCB'). The LGP has a light incident face in which light is incident, a side surface extending from an edge portion of the light incident face, and a fixing groove which is formed from the side surface toward an inner portion thereof. The PCB includes a point light source disposing portion in which the point light sources are disposed along a first direction, an extending portion extending from the point light disposing portion along a second direction substantially perpendicular to the first direction, and a protrusion which is fixed at an end portion of the extending portion. The protrusion of the PCB is coupled with the fixing groove of the LGP.

Backlight assembly

The high intensity light output of edge lighting point light sources such as LEDs may generate undesired leakage light that is optically conducted by way of a continuum of the material of a components affixing adhesive member. In accordance with present disclosure, air filled grooves or other such discontinuities are formed in the adhesive member along respective light output pathways of the respective point light sources. One corresponding embodiment comprises spaced apart LEDs mounted on an FPCB; a light guide plate (LGP) disposed adjacent to the LEDs; a main support accommodating the LEDs and the LGP; and an adhesive member formed to affix together the FPCB, the main support, and the light guide, wherein the adhesive member is patterned to define air filled grooves along respective light output pathways of the LEDs.

Backlighting assembly combined with LCD assembly and method for combining the same using a double-sided adhesive member

A display device including: a display panel; a chassis base that houses the display panel on one side and comprises at least one pair of supporting bosses on the other side; and a wall-mount holder that is connected to the pair of supporting bosses and includes a supporting rod coupling hole, wherein the pair of supporting bosses includes a first supporting boss and a second supporting boss, and wherein the first supporting boss and the second supporting boss include a guide pin and a screw groove.

Display device

A display apparatus includes a curved display panel having a first curvature; and a plurality of light source units arranged along the first curvature the display panel. Each light source unit includes a reflective part including a reflective upper surface which has a second curvature different from the first curvature of the display panel; and a light source part which is at a first side of the reflective part, and includes a light source which generates and provides a light to the reflective surface.

Curved display apparatus

A backlight device is provided. A backlight device according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes: a lower cover enclosing a light guide plate and having a bottom cover and a side cover; and a printed circuit board attached to the lower cover and mounted with the light source, wherein the first opening is formed in the lower cover. The light source is inserted into the first opening and is positioned on an inner surface of the lower cover, and the printed circuit board is positioned at the outer surface of the lower cover.

Backlight device, display device including the same, and manufacturing method for backlight device

A display apparatus includes a display panel including a protective electrode and a ground pad that is applied with a ground voltage, a conductive member electrically connecting the ground pad and the protective electrode, a backlight unit providing light to the display panel, a bottom chassis accommodating the backlight unit, and at least one fixing member fixing a side portion of the display panel and a side portion of the bottom chassis to each other. The fixing member makes contact with the conductive member and the bottom chassis to electrically connect the conductive member and the bottom chassis.

Display apparatus and method of manufacturing the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel which receives a light and displays an image, a bottom chassis which accommodates the display panel, and a top chassis which faces the bottom chassis with the display panel therebetween. The top chassis overlaps a portion of the display panel and includes a first thru-hole which extends through a thickness of a side portion thereof. The display apparatus includes a printed circuit board and a coupling member. The printed circuit board applies an electrical signal to the display panel, is under the side portion, and includes a second thru-hole which corresponds to the first thru-hole. The coupling member extends through the first thru-hole and the second thru-hole, and couples the top chassis and the printed circuit board to each other.

Display apparatus

A backlight assembly includes a light source part, a light guide plate, a container, and a support member. The light source part has a light emitting surface to emit light, and the light guide plate has a light incident surface to guide light. The container includes a bottom portion and sidewalls to receive the light source part and the light guide plate. The support member pushes the light guide plate toward the bottom portion to more closely maintain the position of the light incident surface with respect to the light emitting surface. This helps to prevent misalignment between the light exist surface and the light incident surface, maintaining the quantity of light supplied to the light guide plate.

Backlight assembly and display apparatus having the same

A display apparatus includes; a plurality of light sources which emit a light, a display panel which displaying an image using the light, a light guide plate which guides the light emitted from the light sources to the display panel, and a plurality of reflection members that are spaced apart from each other and coupled with a first side of the light guide plate and a second side of the light guide plate facing the first side to reflect light traveling inside the light guide plate to the first and second sides, wherein the plurality of light sources include; a plurality of first light sources, each of the plurality of first light sources being arranged corresponding to an area between two adjacent reflection members of the plurality of reflection members on the first side and a plurality of second light sources each being arranged corresponding to an area between two reflection members on the second side.
