A method for transmitting, storing and managing data by compressing data packets to be transmitted and received over an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) network with low-capacity memory and low-transfer rate. A number of transmission packets may be reduced using at least one of a bitmap interval algorithm that assigns a bitmap value to each interval, thereby reducing a number of request packets, a repeated-bitmap interval algorithm that represents sequential data values as bitmap values by toggling a bit value between 0 and 1 in each data value when a change occurs in the sequential data values, and a run-length encoding algorithm that compresses data by encoding run length of sequential identical data.

Method and apparatus for data management in advanced metering infrastructure network

A power on/off mechanism of a plug-in unit driven by an insertion/ejection device in a printed circuit board (PCB) which is adapted to various power switch on/off switches in accordance with a characteristic of a plug-in unit, thus reducing manufacturing costs and easily maintaining parts. The mechanism includes a power switch on/off lever having a protrusion formed in one end thereof which is inserted into a guide groove formed in a center portion of the handle when inserting/ejecting the plug-in unit and a jaw formed in another end thereof for receiving the power switch lever. The power switch on/off lever is inserted into a lever engaging hole formed in the bracket, and the power switch lever is position in the interior of the jaw. When plug-in unit is inserted into the sub-rack, one end of the power switch on/off lever is inserted into the guide groove formed in the handle, the protrusion of the lever is lowered along the guide groove, the other end of the lever is lifted, and the power switch lever in the interior of the jaw of the lever turns to the on state. When ejecting the plug-in unit from the sub-rack, one end of the power switch on/off lever is ejected from the guide groove of the handle, the protrusion of the lever is lifted along the guide groove, and the power switch lever turns to the off state from the on state through a dead point.

A method for fabricating a bipolar complementary metal oxide semiconductor device, includes a first step of forming a three-layered substrate of p.sup.- /n.sup.+ /n.sup.- type or n.sup.- /p.sup.+ /p.sup.- type and forming p- and n-wells to be adjacent to each other to the bottom of the top layer of the three-layered substrate; a second step of isolating the p- and n-wells from each other and defining a region for a bipolar transistor on one side to separate base/emitter regions from each other; a third step of defining a gate region to form a metal- oxide semiconductor transistor in each of the p- and n-wells and forming collector/emitter regions in the bipolar transistor region; and a fourth step of forming an n-type metal oxide semiconductor transistor, a p-type metal oxide semiconductor transistor and a bipolar transistor on the p-well, n-well and collector/emitter regions, respectively, and forming source/drain and base electrodes through diffusion by using a doped polycrystalline silicon sidewall spacer.
