An exhaust system of a liquid electrophotography printer includes: an exhaust line to discharge air inside an engine cell to an outside thereof; at least one exhaust fan, which is installed inside the exhaust line to generate and move the air inside the engine cell; a heating coil to heat the air to be discharged through the exhaust line to ignite impurities contained in the air; and an oxidative catalyst filter to filter and deodorize the impurities. The heating coil may be installed inside the exhaust line and coated with platinum on the outer surface. The oxidative catalyst filter may be installed inside the exhaust line, and may be a metallic honeycomb carrier coated with a catalyst mixture, or a non-woven heating mat coated with a catalyst mixture. The heating coil and the oxidative catalyst filter are typically sequentially installed adjacent to each other.

A delivery unit and method for removing carrier vapor in a wet-type printer. The delivery unit includes a delivery guide, delivery rollers and a duct for collecting carrier vapor generated from a paper by the latent heat on the paper passing through the delivery guide in order to prevent the carrier vapor from leaking outside of the printer. The carrier vapor collection duct includes upper and lower housings connected to each other to form a predetermined space therein. The upper housing has a vent on one side thereof and an air inlet on the opposite side. A fan is mounted on the vent. The carrier vapor is collected in the duct of the delivery unit and then sent to the catalyst unit by the fan to be oxidized. Accordingly, the delivery unit can prevent the white carrier vapor generated from the paper passing through the delivery unit from leaking outside the printer.

Accordingly, before developing a new image, the complete consumption of the paper supply can be detected, and therefore, the toner can be saved.

A liquid image developing system including a development container in which a developer having a charge is stored, a photosensitive body, and a development roller which is partially soaked in the developer in the development container and to rotate and form development nip. The system further includes a depositing portion to apply an electric potential to attach the developer to the surface of the development roller, a metering portion to regulate the developer attached to the surface of the development roller at a predetermined thickness at a front end of the development nip, and a cleaning portion to clean the surface of the development roller at a rear end of the development nip. The cleaning portion includes an electrical cleaning member which contacts the development roller and removes the developer attached to the surface of the development roller by an electrical attractive force, and a mechanical cleaning member which contacts the development roller and mechanically cleans the developer attached to the surface of the development roller.

An ink feeding valve of a wet type electrophotographic printer, capable of basically preventing operational error and incapability of valve due to ink attachment, includes: a valve body having a pipeline for interconnecting the concentrated ink tank with the developing solution tank; a rod assembly disposed in the pipeline of the valve body so as to be vertically moved for selectively opening/closing the pipeline; an elevating section for vertically moving the rod assembly; and a corrugated tube disposed in the pipeline of the valve body for partitioning the pipeline into an inner ink passage and an outside elevating section operating chamber, and for preventing ink flow into the elevating section operating chamber. Since the ink passage and the elevating section operating chamber are isolated from each other by the presence of a corrugated tube, the plunger and spring located in the elevating section operating chamber are efficiently operated without having problems caused due to ink attachment. Accordingly, ink can be consistently fed and operational problems avoided.

A photosensitive belt removing device and a photosensitive belt removing method of an electrophotographic printing apparatus are disclosed. The photosensitive belt removing device includes: a belt cutting mechanism installed in the printing apparatus so as to cut in a widthwise direction the photosensitive belt installed at the belt unit in a continuous loop state; a filter cartridge installed in the vicinity of the belt unit for filtering objects floating in the air in the printing apparatus; an auxiliary housing provided at one side of the filter cartridge; a revolver rotatably installed in the auxiliary housing and provided with a through slot so that a leading edge of the photosensitive belt cut by the belt cutting mechanism can be inserted into the through slot; a leading edge introducing guide which guides the leading edge of the photosensitive belt cut by the belt cutting mechanism into the auxiliary housing and introduces the leading edge into the through slot of the revolver; and a driving source which rotates the revolver so that the revolver can wind up the photosensitive belt.

Photosensitive belt removing device of electrophotographic printing apparatus and photosensitive belt removing method using the same

A photosensitive belt cartridge includes a cartridge body substantially in the shape of an ovoid whose one end is open to receive the photosensitive belt in an endless track thereto. A plurality of spring plates, whose respective ends are fixed on ends of inner wall of the cartridge body, are arranged on the inner wall of the cartridge body along the endless track of the photosensitive belt at certain intervals, for supporting the photosensitive belt in cooperation with the inner wall of the cartridge body. An inner cover is used which is disposed at an open portion of the cartridge body for supporting edges of the photosensitive belt, and also for supporting the ends of the plurality of spring plates, for preventing partial loosening of the photosensitive belt. Further, the cartridge body includes a guiding rail formed on the upper surface, which has a pair of outwardly-bent locking ribs which are slidably fit into the advancing rail of the belt unit. The inner cover slides into the cartridge body when the inner cover is advanced into the belt unit. Accordingly, since the structure is simplified and the number of parts is reduced, the assembling time and cost can be greatly reduced while manufacturing can be more profitable. Further, the photosensitive belt cartridge is easy to handle, and the photosensitive belt thereof is protected from any possible damage.

Photosensitive belt cartridge of a liquid electrophotographic printer

There are provided a method for controlling the mode of a developing station of a liquid electrophotographic printer and a development roller driving apparatus therefor. In the controlling method, a printing mode, a drip line removal mode and a home mode are sequentially performed, and a development roller is subjected to racing in the home mode to be cleaned. Since the development roller is cleaned in the home mode in which the development roller is spaced apart from a photosensitive belt, the photosensitive belt is not contaminated by the development roller while cleaning the development roller. Also, the cleaning of the development roller is performed after completing a drip line removal mode, so sufficient cleaning time can be obtained. The development roller driving apparatus for implementing the controlling method includes a motor which is a driving power source, a reduction gear train for reducing and transmitting power of the motor, a power relay gear engaged with the reduction gear train, and a link/gear assembly for transmitting the power relayed by the power relay gear to the development roller gear. Accordingly, the development roller can be rotated in any position corresponding to the printing mode, the drip line removal mode or the home mode. Therefore, the cleaning of a development roller is allowed in the home mode.

Method for controlling the mode of a developing station of a liquid electrophotographic printer and as development roller driving apparatus therefor

An apparatus and a method of removing a photoreceptor belt from an electrophotographic printer are provided. The apparatus includes at least one pair of rollers for pressing and transferring the photoreceptor belt circulating in a predetermined traveling track, a cutting blade capable of cutting the photoreceptor belt while moving across the photoreceptor belt, a cylindrical member rotatably installed in a filter housing disposed near the photoreceptor belt, the filter housing having a filter cartridge for filtering foreign material of the inner air of the printer, and a driver for rotating the cylindrical member such that the photoreceptor belt is wound around the cylindrical member. The photoreceptor belt is cut and automatically drawn from the traveling track into the filter housing. The cut photoreceptor belt is removed together with the filter cartridge installed in the filter housing. The photoreceptor belt removing process can be easily and quickly performed, and it is also convenient to manage a replacement cycle of supplies for a printer.

Apparatus and method of removing photoreceptor belt for electrophotographic printer

In an apparatus for elevating a squeeze roller of a liquid developing apparatus, a sub-block having the squeeze roller selectively pressing a photoreceptor web installed thereon, is installed at a main block of the liquid developing apparatus to be capable of moving up and down. A mobile block is installed at the main block to be capable of moving up and down to support the sub-block. The mobile block is moved up and down by an elevating unit to allow the squeeze roller to contact or be separated from the photoreceptor web. A piezoelectric element is installed at the mobile block to support the sub-block and to move the sub-block up and down in a predetermined range by being reversibly transformed by electric current. A power supply selectively provides electric current to the piezoelectric element. Thus, the decline over time of the elastic force of the spring employed in the conventional elevating apparatus can be fundamentally solved. Further, when the liquid developing apparatus of the present invention is used for a long time, the pressing force of the squeeze roller to the photoreceptor web can be uniformly maintained.
