The disclosure provides a method including the following steps: receiving, by an electronic device, beacon signals transmitted from access points, and estimating the number of the access points according to the beacon signals; determining by the electronic device whether the electronic device can connect to a base station; when it is determined that the electronic device cannot connect to the base station, estimating the number of connection access points according to the number of the access points and a first data queue by the electronic device; and when it is determined that the electronic device can connect to the base station, determining by the electronic device whether to connect the electronic device to the base station according to the first data queue, and estimating the number of the connection access points according to the number of the access points, the first data queue and a determination result.

The storage stores a random function, reuse information and fractional frequency reuse (FFR) information which records an original cell ID/frequency corresponding relation of an unoccupied partition of the network. The processor selects a time partition from the unoccupied partition according to the random function and the reuse information, changes the original cell ID/frequency corresponding relation to generate a changed cell ID/frequency corresponding relation according to the FFR information; and generates an allocation message according to the time partition and the changed cell ID/frequency corresponding relation, wherein the transceiver conveys the allocation message to the femto BS.

The expected value is related to a number of the available network resource units and a number of the neighboring femto-BSs. Based on the expected value, the femto-BS calculates a plurality of strategy probability values that are related to different numbers of the available network resource units used by the femto-BS. The femto-BS calculates an assigned number according to the strategy probability values. Among the available network resource units, the femto-BS can use the assigned number of them.

A method for an end-to-end hybrid automatic repeat request and a system thereof are provided. The method is applicable in a cognitive radio network (CRN) including at least a source node and a destination node. There are paths between a source node and a destination node in the CRN, and each path has a plurality of wireless links. The method includes the following steps. The source node encodes information into a coded packet, divides the coded packet into coded sub-packets, and transmits the coded sub-packets to the paths. Through the wireless links of each path, a coded sub-packet is amplified and forwarded to the destination node. In addition, the destination node combines the coded sub-packets for decoding so as to recover the information, and transmits an acknowledgement packet to the source node for notifying whether the information is successfully recovered.

Method and system of radio resource allocation for mobile MIMO-OFDMA

A method and apparatus for unifying medium access control (MAC) protocols that can unify the various existed MAC protocols, e.g. slotted ALOHA protocol, carrier sense multiple access (CSMA) protocol, group randomly addressed polling (GRAP) protocol and so forth. The method comprises: grouping the MAC nodes having a ready packet according to preset parameters; and transmitting packets according to the grouping result and the preset parameters. The apparatus comprises a unified MAC processor, a memory and a transmitter/receiver circuit. Therein, the memory further comprises a unified MAC program and a packet buffer and the unified MAC program is used to control the unified MAC processor. After configuring the unified MAC program, the unified MAC processor will operate as the specific MAC protocol. Therefore, the apparatus can transmit its packet via the transmitter/receiver circuit thereon in accordance with the specific MAC protocol.

A system and a method for deriving transmitted signals from multiple users for an OFDM-CDMA communication system are described herein. An optimum synchronizer for use in an OFDM-CDMA system is also provided. In one aspect, the system and method incorporate a programmable structure for different OFDM-CDMA systems (e.g., MC-CDMA, MC-DS-CDMA, and MT-CDMA) that can be efficiently implemented. The programmable structure is based on the linear minimum mean square error (LMMSE) or best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE) techniques. A selective hopping method for hit avoidance in a frequency hopping spread spectrum communication system utilizing an original hopping sequence, having a plurality of available channels for receiving signal packet traffic utilizing a plurality of receiving signal slots are disclosed. The plurality of available channels all are available for use in frequency hopping. The method includes the steps of dividing the plurality of available channels into a plurality of partitions; distributing the available channels in each of the plurality of partitions into a predetermined distribution; forming a partition sequence by assigning a predetermined number of channels to a plurality of selected receiving signal slot sets; generating a generated hopping sequence by partition mapping, in which the partition mapping is responsive to the partition sequence; and managing the receiving signal packet traffic, in which the receiving signal packet traffic is transmitted only in the selected receiving signal slot sets.
