An electrical switching device includes a switch housing and first and second circuit assemblies received in the switch housing. Each of the first and second circuit assemblies include a base terminal and a moveable terminal moveable between an open state and a closed state. The moveable terminal is electrically connected to the base terminal in the closed state. An actuator assembly is received in the switch housing. The actuator assembly includes a motor that has a drive coil generating a magnetic field. First and second pivots are arranged within the magnetic field of the drive coil. The first and second pivots are rotated when the drive coil is operated. First and second actuators are coupled to the first and second pivots and are slidable within the switch housing. The first and second actuators are operatively coupled to the moveable terminals of the first and second circuit assemblies, respectively. The first and second actuators move the moveable terminals between the open and closed states.

Electrical switching device

An electrical switching device includes first and second circuit assemblies. Each of the first and second circuit assemblies includes a base terminal and a moveable terminal movable between an open state and a closed state. The movable terminal is electrically connected to the base terminal in the closed state. An actuator assembly is electromechanically controlled by a motor. The actuator assembly includes a pivot member rotated by the motor that has a post extending outward from a pivot body. An actuator is moved by the pivot member and is movable between a first position and a second position. The actuator is operatively coupled to the moveable terminals of the first and second circuit assemblies. The actuator moves the movable terminals to the closed state as the actuator is moved from the first position to the second position. The actuator has a pocket with a compression spring received in the pocket. The compression spring extends between a first end and a second end. The first end engages the actuator. The second end engages the post. The compression spring provides a force on the actuator to push the movable terminals toward the base terminals.

An electrical switching device that includes first and second circuit assemblies. Each of the first and second circuit assemblies includes a base terminal and a moveable terminal that is configured to flex to and from the base terminal. The switching device also includes a coupling element that is operatively coupled to the moveable terminals of the first and second circuit assemblies. The switching device also includes an electromechanical motor that has a pivot body that is operatively coupled to the coupling element. The pivot body is configured to rotate bi-directionally about a center of rotation. The pivot body moves the coupling element side-to-side along a longitudinal axis so that the moveable terminals move in a common direction with respect to each other and along the longitudinal axis when the pivot body is rotated between first and second rotational positions.

Electrical switching devices having moveable terminals

The invention is directed to a switch assembly which can be used in situation in which the switch accommodates the flow of high voltage current. An actuator assembly with moveable contacts is moved by a motor driven armature. The moveable contacts are in electrical engagement with the stationary contacts when the armature is in the first position, and the moveable contacts are spaced from the stationary contacts when the armature is in the second position. By angling the stationary contacts and moveable contacts, the linear motion of the armature causes the moveable contacts to move across the surface of the stationary contacts as the armature approaches the first position. As all of the movements of the assembly are in a direction parallel to the axis of the armature, the assembly can be manufactured and operated reliably in a relatively small space. In addition, the linear movement on the angled contact provides for a positive electrical connection even in adverse environments.

Switching device

A bobbin assembly is disclosed that includes a first bobbin and a second bobbin. The second bobbin is configured substantially similar to the first bobbin. The first and second bobbins include a first flange and a second flange disposed at opposite ends of a central core. The first flanges include terminal receiving cavities and wire posts for terminate a wire wound around the central core. The bobbin assembly may be formed by mating either the first flanges or the second flanges together.

An electromagnetic relay has a relay coil, an armature, a pusher and a contact system. The armature is actuated by the relay coil, and linked to the pusher to drive the pusher to operate the contact system. A set of stationary contact springs and a set of moveable contact springs have a gap separating them. The moveable contact springs connect to the pusher and to a pivot point. The stationary springs have a notch therein adjacent to the base structure portion. The pusher movement causes the stationary contact springs and the moveable contact springs to engage or disengage, and to automatically adjust the overtravel angle of the stationary contact springs relative to the moveable contact springs by bending the stationary contact spring at the notch of the stationary contact spring.

Relay with automated overtravel adjustment

An electromagnetic relay has an overtravel adjustment to set the gap in the contact arrangement. The armature is actuated by a relay coil and linked to a pusher to drive the pusher to operate the contact system. The pusher includes a rotary dial disposed in a slot on the pusher adjacent to the armature. The rotary adjustment increases or decreases a gap of the contacts to provide an over-travel adjustment. The pusher includes bifurcated tines defining the slot for receiving an armature linkage and the rotary adjustment. The rotary adjustment includes a head and a post depending from the head. The post is disposed within the slot and the head portion in contact with the armature linkage portion. The rotary adjustment sets the distance between the forward edge and the armature to achieve the desired overtravel for the contact arrangement.

Relay with overtravel adjustment

A mounting base for switch packages having a mounting flange is provided. The base includes a body having a first receptacle and a second receptacle, and each of the first and second receptacle is configured to accept a mounting flange of the switch package with snap-fit engagement. The first and the second receptacles are inverted relative to one another and allow mounting of the switch package with a fewer number of fasteners.

A first aspect of the invention includes a power relay assembly having a motor assembly and actuator assembly disposed in a housing. The actuator assembly includes at least one bridge assembly having one or more contacts arranged to provide selective electrical connections. The actuator assembly is attached to an armature of the motor assembly. The armature is arranged and disposed to drive the actuator assembly. The motor assembly includes an electromagnetic coil assembly disposed around at least a portion of the armature. A magnetic pole piece is configured adjacent to an end of the coil assembly. The pole piece includes an armature seat configured to attract and receive the armature when the coil assembly is magnetized. The armature seat has a taper configured to provide a substantially constant attractive force along the stroke length.

Power relay

A terminal adapter for an electronic package having a stub terminal is provided. The adapter includes an adapter housing configured to be fitted over the electronic package and enclosing the terminal of the electronic package, a terminal receptacle formed in the housing, and at least one screw terminal assembly fitted within said terminal receptacle and locked thereto with deflectable mounting legs.

Quick connect terminal adapter for electronic packages

The invention discloses a modular jack assembly comprised of an outer housing and a plurality of modular jack subassemblies. The modular jack subassemblies are comprised of an elongate beam support having a plurality of modular jack contacts on both sides thereof. The contacts extend into printed circuit board contacts and extend to and beyond the side edges of the elongate beam platform, leaving the space above and below the printed circuit board contacts and the beam support free, to accommodate signal conditioning componentry. Two printed circuit board modules are mounted orthogonally to the side edges of the beam support and include signal conditioning components. The assemblies are insertable into the housing defining modular jacks in the outer housing.

A plug and receptacle assembly comprises a plug connector and receptacle connector, for high-density interconnections of data cable. The two connectors are fully shielded and include a mating profile including a modified D-shaped configuration. The receptacle assembly includes a plurality of overmolded webs of lead frames. The webs are overmolded laterally asymmetric to provide a thin web on one side, and a thick web on the other, where air pockets project through the thick webs and expose portions of contacts. The overmolded webs are stacked one against the other such that thin webs are positioned intermediate contacts in the same pair, whereas the thick webs, and air pockets are positioned one against the other in adjacent contacts of adjacent pairs.

High-density receptacle connector

A plug and receptacle assembly comprises a plug connector and receptacle connector, for high-density interconnections of data cable. The two connectors are fully shielded and include a mating profile including a modified D-shaped configuration where one end of the shroud includes a concave radiused portion and two jackscrews or threaded inserts are located within the area formed by the concave radiused portion. In this manner, the entire width of the connector assembly is reduced for high-density interconnections.
