A conveyor chain for a pallet belt of a moving walkway is described. The conveyor chain comprises multiple elongate chain links, which are arranged behind one another at a chain pitch, and which can be subjected to a tensile load by link pins and are coupled so as to be pivotable about a longitudinal center axis of the respective link pin transverse to the longitudinal direction. The conveyor chain furthermore comprises multiple elongate connecting elements that are likewise arranged behind one another and pivotably coupled to one another. Each of the connecting elements is coupled to an associated first link pin with a front end and coupled to an associated second link pin with a rear end. In this case, a connecting element pitch between the first and the second link pin amounts to an integer multiple of the chain pitch.

Conveying chain for a panel belt of a moving walkway of small overall height

A method for mounting a conveyor chain for a pallet belt of a moving walkway is described. Provided elongated connecting elements for fastening pallets are coupled in one coupling process to one another and to chain links, which are coupled to one another, such that the connecting elements are arranged one behind the other parallel to the extension direction of the conveyor chain, each of the connecting elements is coupled at a front end to an associated first one of the chain pins, and at a rear end to an associated second one of the chain pins, wherein a connecting element spacing distance between the first and second chain pins is an integer multiple of the chain spacing distance.

A method for mounting a conveyor chain for a pallet belt of a moving walkway, and a conveyor chain, includes providing elongated connecting elements for fastening pallets to the conveyor chain, coupling the connecting elements in one coupling process to one another and to chain links that are coupled to one another, such that the connecting elements are arranged one behind the other parallel to the extension direction of the conveyor chain, and each of the connecting elements is coupled at a first end to an associated first one of two-piece chain pins and coupled at a second end to an associated second one of the two-piece chain pins, wherein a connecting element spacing distance between the first and second two-piece chain pins is an integral multiple of the chain spacing distance.

Method for mounting a conveyor chain for a pallet belt of a moving walkway

An escalator is described that is designed in an installation space-saving manner and can be operated with low wear. The escalator has a plurality of treads and a guide-rail assembly to guide the treads during a return run. Each tread front intermeshing structure and a rear intermeshing structure that are complementarily configured in such a manner that they can meshably engage into one another in the forward run. The escalator is configured such that at least in a central region of the return run moving at an incline, the intermeshing structures of adjacent treads are meshably arranged with each other. As a result, the dimensions of the escalator can be reduced and adjacent treads can mutually guide each other through the meshing engagement.

The step () comprises cheeks () which are manufactured from deep drawing sheet metal, and a tread element () and a deep drawn seating element (). The arc (BO) of the seating element () follows a first radius (R) in the upper region and a second radius (R) in the lower region, wherein the second radius (R) is somewhat smaller than the first radius (R). The sheet (BO) of the seating element () merges smoothly at the line (&#xdc;R) from one radius into the other radius. By way of the two radii (R, R), the size of the step gap between the tread element () and the seating element () of the adjacent step is independent of the position of the step gap; the step gap always remains very small, for example smaller than 2.8 mm. As a result, the risk of clothing items, sharp objects, shoes, children's fingers and so on getting jammed is reduced considerably.

An escalator with an endless formation of successive steps, each having a step surface, a front surface or step-riser and each side, a sideways directed cheek. Provided in the area of each cheek is at least one roller that projects transversely sideways, and is guided along laterally mounted, diagonally running roller-rails of the escalator. On each step in the area of the front surface or step-riser at least one emergency guide hook is fastened in such manner that the emergency guide hook of a higher lying upper first step supports itself against an area of the cheek of the next lower lying second step, should the step be eccentrically loaded in the area of the step-tread.

Escalator with novel emergency guide means

An escalator or moving walk has respectively a step band and steps, or a moving walk with a pallet band and pallets. A balustrade has a handrail that is held by a balustrade skirt. Arranged on the balustrade skirt is a wedging guard apparatus or deflector apparatus that prevents wedging or pinching of objects and persons between the steps and the balustrade skirt. The wedging guard or deflector apparatus has a carrier or base section and a brush unit that is arranged on a vertical area of the balustrade skirt. The carrier or base section has fastening parts for vertical mating or joining with the brush unit.

A compactly constructed guide system has a run surface for guiding the run of the chain rollers. To guide the sides of the steps, a sliding pin arranged on a step rests on a side surface. A counter-surface serves as a counter-guide for the chain rollers and prevents the chain links from being pushed together. By means of an encapsulation, the step rollers, the chain links, and the running surface can be protected from dirt, dust, water, objects, etc. For run guidance of the step roller, a running surface is provided. An oil collecting channel prevents dripping of lubricating oil. The guide system rests on a bracket plate projection and is releasably connected to the bracket plate. The single-piece guide system is simple and efficient to install and can be accurately positioned at the sides against stops.

Escalator guide system

A clip for joining bearing elements, such as found in escalator constructions may be employed, for example, to join a track rail, on which rollers of an escalator roll to a carrier frame. The clip has a base part and a bracket part of spring steel. At the upper end of each side, the base part has a shoulder to engage one of the elements to be joined. The bracket part has a lug which engages the other element to be joined and, through a further lug, presses the shoulders of the base part against the first element to retain the two elements in the desired contacting position.

Device for fastening components

An escalator or moving walkway includes, divided roller bearings to improve the efficiency of replacement thereof. The roller bearings may be located in the region of the drive axle or deflecting axle of the step chain. The divided roller bearing components can be mounted on the roller bearing axle, and removed therefrom, in radial direction.

A deflector device prevents jamming of body parts and/or objects between a step belt, which consists of individual steps, and a balustrade pedestal of an escalator. A deflector profile member is fixedly connected with the pedestal plate. The deflector profile member has an opening which serves for the reception of a brush body carrying a brush. A first lug of the deflector profile member has a first projection and a second lug of the deflector profile member has a recess. A snap hook and a second projection are provided at the brush body, wherein the snap hook detents with the first projection and the second projection detents with the recess.

Safety device for escalators or moving walkways

The cover arrangement for covering the balustrade sill or base of a transportion apparatus, such as an escalator of moving walkway equipped with a self-supporting vertically disposed balustrade carrier is elastically fixed to the bottom or sub-structure of the balustrade sill or base by means of pairwise arranged, self-adhesive interlocking strips or bands. For this type of fixing, neither screws or bolts nor welding work is required to be performed upon the cover arrangement, so that no screw or bolt heads are visible and there can be used for the covers or panels of the cover arrangement, without any additional expenditure, the most varied materials and surface properties. Each of the cover arrangements, which are divided into an inner cover or panel and an outer cover or panel, can have their individual covers or panels removed, for maintenance purposes or otherwise, independently of the other cover arrangements and their covers or panels without the use of special tools and can be just as easily re-mounted.
