An optical window for a detection system and method of employing the same. In one embodiment, the detection system includes an optical window configured to internally channel external incident radiation to an exit surface for emission. The detection system also includes a detector oriented to receive emitted radiation from the exit surface.

Optical window and detection system employing the same

A wideband antenna with backlobe elimination in a confined space is disclosed. Backlobe elimination is by an array of electromagnetically conductive members disposed between the spiral element and the ground plane and almost contacting the ground plane so as to bleed a backlobe away from the spiral antenna to the ground plane. In one embodiment, the members are conical elements disposed between the spiral element and the ground plane of a spiral antenna such that the apexes of the conical elements almost contact the spiral element and the bases of the conical elements contact the ground plane. In some embodiments, other means may be employed to perform this function. In operation, conical elements bleed the backlobe of the signal away from the spiral element to the ground plane.

A technique for suppressing backwaves employs a photonic approach. In one aspect, the technique includes an apparatus, including: a radiating element; and a microwave-photonic device for suppressing backwaves from the radiating element. In a second aspect, the technique includes a method for removing unwanted radiation from a radiating device, comprising: receiving unwanted radiation from the radiating device; communicating the received radiation to an electro-optically active material; communicating laser light to the electro-optically active material; communicating electromagnetic products of interactions between the radiation and the laser light to a photodiode; and communicating photodiode outputs to a termination.

Highly agile wideband cavity impedance matching

In a first aspect, the invention includes a radio frequency photonic transceiver, comprising: a radio frequency receiver; a radio frequency photonic transmitter; and a switch between the input of the radio frequency photonic receiver and the output of the radio frequency photonic transmitter. In a second aspect, the invention includes an apparatus, comprising: a radio frequency photonic receiver; a radio frequency photonic transmitter; and a switch between the input of the radio frequency photonic receiver and the output of the radio frequency photonic transmitter. In a fourth aspect, the invention includes a method, comprising: generating a first optical signal; electro-optically generating a first radio frequency signal from the first optical signal; transmitting the first radio frequency signal; receiving a second radio frequency signal; and electro-optically modulating a second optical signal with the frequency of the second radio frequency signal. In a fifth aspect, the invention includes a zero-intermediate frequency radio frequency photonic transmitter-receiver unit. In a sixth aspect, the invention includes a radio frequency photonic transmitter-receiver unit including a direct conversion receiver with receiver output.

Radio frequency photonic transceiver

A client identity verification system and method which includes receiving a spoken voice sample from a client. Identifying the match of the client, verifying client information, changing parameters in a conditional database and communicating alerts based on the results. The method also includes matching the received spoken voice sample against a stored voiceprint and voiceprint template of random phrases. The method then also includes verifying the phone number of the client.

System and method for tracking individuals

A system for identifying transmission rates of an optical signal transmitted in an optical communication network includes a signal converter for converting a sample of the optical signal to an electrical signal. A frequency analyzer analyzes the electrical signal to determine energy levels of the signal at predetermined frequencies. The detected energy levels are stored in a first memory device. A second memory device stores known energy levels at predetermined frequencies for a plurality of known optical transmission standards. A comparator receives the detected energy levels stored in the first memory device and compares this information to the known transmission standards stored in the second memory device in order to identify the data transmission standard of the optical signal.
