A software training approach utilizes customized training activities to provide effective customized learning operations for users. Through an association of the user identifier, such as a login, an application determines when an activity occurs requiring training. Based on the user identifier, a customized training activities are retrieved and executed providing a software training based on the specific user in immediate proximity to the actual operation of the computing activity being the subject of the training operations.

Software training method and apparatus

The generation and adjustment of a training object allows for the customized training for a user on a software application. Based on a user identification, the training object may be generated to cover targeted topics for learning while avoiding extraneous subject matter. The training object is generated using knowledge transfer modules composed of knowledge transfer objects. The selection of the knowledge transfer objects is determined based on attributes associated with a user identification and factors associated with the identified user. Therefore, when the user accesses and executes a training object associated with the specific user, the training objects provide directed and targeted training.

Generation of training objects

A knowledge transfer approach is assessed by assigning multiple situation attributes for the knowledge transfer approach. Furthermore, a plurality of communication forms are attributed to the knowledge transfer approach. Based on the situation attributes and the communication form attributes, multiple relationships are derived. Based on these relationships, a compatibility value is determined between the situation attributes and the communication form attributes. Therefore, for a particular knowledge transfer approach, a compatibility value provides an indicator of the effectiveness of the knowledge transfer approach to a customer's specific needs. Moreover, the with multiple knowledge transfer approaches, the effectiveness of these approaches can be assessed by a calculation of compatibility values for each approach and the comparison of the different values.
