A dispensing package (14, 114, 214) which is made up of a reusable pumping head portion (16, 116, 216) and a body portion (18, 118, 218) to which the head portion is removably attached. The pumping action is initiated by the reciprocation of an annular, reciprocable dosing piston (30, 130, 230) which may be a part of the body portion (30, 130) or a part of the head portion (230). The reciprocation of the dosing piston is initiated by the arcuate movement of a pumping lever (40) that is carried by the head portion. The pumping lever is biased by a spring (46) to return to its original position at the conclusion of a pumping cycle. Striping can be accomplished by providing the dosing piston with a spout (32, 232') that extends downwardly therefrom, the spout having a circumferential series of spaced apart apertures (32d, 232d') extending therethrough above a lower bottom tip portion (32b, 232b') thereof.

Dispensing package for a viscous product with a reusable pumping

A hand operable dispensing package for dispensing first and second viscous products in a composite product having a bead of the first viscous product and a plurality of spaced apart longitudinally extending stripes of the second viscous product on the outside of the bead of the first viscous product. The dispensing package has an elongate dispensing spout and an annular insert positioned in the dispensing spout with an outer surface of an inner portion of the annular insert and an inner surface of an inner portion of the dispensing spout defining an annular recess. The second viscous product is packaged in the annular recess and the first viscous product is packaged in a portion of the dispensing package below the annular recess and at least to the level of a free end of the annular insert. The annular insert has a multiplicity of transversely extending passages extending therethrough to permit the second viscous product to flow from the annular recess into the annular insert where it lodges in longitudinal recesses in the first viscous product flowing through the annular insert from the free end which are formed by internal ribs in the inner end of the annular insert. The dispensing package is provided with a pumping mechanism to simultaneously pressurize the first viscous product and the second viscous product.

Stripping dispenser package for viscous products

A hand operable dispensing package for dispensing first and second viscous products in a composite product having a bead of the first viscous product and a plurality of spaced apart longitudinally extending stripes of the second viscous product on the outside of the bead of the first viscous product. The dispensing package has a polygonal elongate dispensing spout with a generally star-shaped tip to dispense the first viscous product in a star-shaped configuration with a core portion and a plurality of lobes extending outwardly from the core portion, and a circular annular insert snugly positioned in the dispensing spout with an outer surface of an inner portion of the annular insert and an inner surface of an inner portion of the dispensing spout defining an annular recess and a circumferential series of longitudinally extending passages. The second viscous product is packaged in the annular recess and the first viscous product is packaged in a portion of the dispensing below the annular recess and at least to the level of a free end of the annular insert. The annular insert has a tapered portion which defines an annular chamber with the dispensing spout, and the annular chamber receives the second viscous product from the longitudinally extending passages and dispenses it strips at the tips of the lobed portions of the first viscous product. The dispensing package is provided with a hand operable pumping mechanism to simultaneously pressurize the first viscous product and the second viscous product.

Striping dispenser package for viscous products

A package for containing and dispensing a viscous product such as toothpaste. The package includes a cylindrical container with a wall extending across an end of the container, such end serving as a dispensing end, and the wall has an opening which is surrounded by a spout through which the viscous product is dispensed. A pumping piston is positioned within the container near the dispensing end to subdivide the container into a reservoir below the pumping piston and a staging area above the pumping piston and in communication with the discharge spout, and to pump viscous product through the discharge spout by the movement of the pumping piston toward the discharge spout. The pumping piston is advanced toward the discharge spout by an oscillatable dispensing pump in the form of a first class lever which has a button at one end and a pumping piston engaging element extending from the other end, with biasing means being provided to bias the dispensing pump and the pumping piston back to initial, non-pumping positions. The inside surface of the container wall has recesses for the flow of viscous product from the reservoir toward the staging area when the pumping piston is not in its pumping stroke as well as an aperture in the pumping piston for the same purpose, such aperture being sealed by the pumping piston engaging element during a pumping stroke.
