A refilling cartridge is provided for refilling a jet printer cartridge with ink. The refilling cartridge includes a housing for a foil pouch refilling chamber and a hollow needle projecting from the housing. A rubber elastic sealing element is provided at a free end of the needle to be selectively penetrated by the needed. The sealing element is secured by a movable retaining element that shields the hollow needed and is movable in a lengthwise direction of the hollow needle to selectively expose the free end of the hollow needle. A spring element holds the retaining element in a position where the sealing element seals the open end of the needle and releasable locking elements are provided for the retaining element.

Cartridge for refilling a printing cartridge with ink

A photocopying machine developing apparatus is described in which an adjustable doctor blade is disposed adjacent a shell surrounding a magnetic roller. The doctor blade is guided in a U-shaped slideway with respect to the shell and is displaceable in the radial direction by contact with adjusting screws. The doctor blade is pressed against the adjusting screws by tension springs.

Developing apparatus for a photocopying machine

The invention relates to a fixing arrangement for fixing toner images in a photocopying machine or the like. The arrangement includes three pressing rolls or rollers disposed substantially in a common plane and supported together at respective bearing blocks. The bearing blocks are formed as respective single parts at the ends of the rolls and form bearing seats for both outer press rolls and a guide for the bearing of the middle press roll.

A copying machine and paper supply cassette is provided with a control arrangement to prevent operation of the machine upon improper insertion of the cassette. A control switch mechanism for controlling the electricity supply to the copying machine includes a pivotable control lever having a first arm engageable with catch part of the cassette so that said cassette pivots said control lever as it is inserted into a cassette guide of the machine. The control lever includes a second arm engageable through a second opening in the sidewall of the cassette to permit the pivoting movement of the control lever. The opposite side of the cassette includes no second opening so that insertion of the cassette in an upside down position is prevented.

A compact, readily servicable, office photocopying machine is provided which has pivotally connected upper and lower housing parts. A paper cassette receiver for holding a stack of coated photosensitive copying paper sheets is located at the bottom of the lower housing part. The lower housing part also operably supports a charging station, an exposing station, a developing station, and a fixing station arranged above and within the vertical projection of the stack of sheets in the cassette receiver. A sheet separating station for separating individual sheets from the cassette and a paper reversing guide are provided for transferring individual sheets from the cassette to the charging station. The exit end of the paper reversing guide and the separating station are also arranged above and within the vertical projection of the stack of sheets in the cassette receiver. A slide block with a holder for an original to be copied and an optical system are operably supported at the upper housing part.

Compact photocopying machine

A developing station for an electrostatic copier which station includes a magnetic roller connected to a rotary drive and disposed within a stationary sleeve made of a non-magnetizable material. The magnetic roller is adapted to receive a powdered toner, especially a single-component toner along its outer circumference. The stationary sleeve and roller are disposed so that an area of the outer circumference of the stationary sleeve and roller is located opposite an image carrier or an intermediate image carrier which is transported through the developing station past the magnetic roller. At least an outer surface of the sleeve is formed of an electrically insulating material with an insert or covering of an electrically conducting material being provided in the area of the sleeve which is opposite the image carrier or the intermediate image carrier.

Developing station for an electrostatic copier

A drum for an electrophotographic copier with the drum serving as an image support and being connected to a rotary drive of the copier, the drum including a stock roll for accommodating a supply of a photosensitive weblike semiconductor material and an empty or takeup roll for receiving the weblike semiconductor material. The semiconductor material is guided over the outer peripheral surface of the drum from the stock roll and is taken up by the empty roll by means of a preferably stepwise adjustable drive. The drum including the stock roll, takeup roll, and semiconductor material form an exchangeable unit adapted to be inserted as a whole into the electrophotographic copier. The drum includes a slit defined by two deflector rolls from which slit the semiconductor material is adapted to be led into and out of the interior of the drum.

A packaging arrangement for a stack of sheets which includes a container surrounding the stack on all sides and adapted to the contour of the stack of sheets. The container is provided with predetermined separating zones whereby, upon separation of the container along the predetermined separating zones, a portion of the container can be removed and the stack of sheets partially uncovered thereby permitting access of the stack of sheets to a further processing apparatus.

Sheet packaging arrangement

A photocopying arrangement which includes a bi partite housing accommodating a paper feeding unit, a corona discharge unit, an exposure station associated with an optical system to transfer an image of an original disposed on an exposure carriage, and a developing unit following the exposure station. The exposure carriage and the optical system are arranged in an upper housing section which is removable so as to uncover the entire paper flow. A bottom housing section, opened toward the top, accommodates the paper feeding unit, the corona discharge unit, the exposure station and the developing unit.

Copying apparatus

A duplicating arrangement which includes a copying machine for copying an original and an offset printing machine operatively connected to the copying machine for producing prints from a master copy. The copying machine and the offset printing machine are both constructed so as to be independently functional modules with an automatic control device being provided for controlling the operation of the copying machine and offset printing machines such that, depending upon the duplications to be made, the duplicating arrangement feeds a copy from the copying machine to either a depository or the offset printing machine, wherein the copy so-forwarded serves as a master copy in the offset printing machine.

Duplicating apparatus

A detachably engaged unit associated with a copying machine wherein the unit includes a conveying arrangement for transferring a sheet or web of paper containing a charge relief image thereon to a station or position where a magnetizable powder is transferred to the charged surface of the web or sheet with a pressing arrangement being spaced rearwardly from the powder transfer station for fixing the image on the web or sheet under a pressure. The unit is supported on a pivot axis lying in the zone of a bottom edge of a housing on the copying machine whereby the unit can be pivoted from the copier housing in a conveying direction of the sheet or web thereby facilitating the repair, replacement, and/or service of the elements forming the detachably engaged unit.

Mounting arrangement for component elements of a copying machine

A pressing installation for use with a copying arrangement which installation includes a pair of opposed pressure rollers mounted on shafts mutually inclined toward one another with bearing blocks being provided for supporting the rollers. The bearing blocks are pivotably connected on one side of the pressure rollers by a leaf-spring joint arrangement with an adjustable clamping arrangement being provided on the other side of the pressure rollers for maintaining the bearing blocks in a fixed position. The spring arrangement forms a fixed spring joint free from play between the bearing blocks.

Pressing installation for a copying arrangement

A copying machine arrangement having an apparatus for applying and fixing a magnetizable powder on a coated and electrostatically charged paper sheet to fix the image thereon. The apparatus includes conveying means for carrying the charged paper to a surface element positioned below a powder dispensing structure wherein a magnetic roller will transfer the carbon powder to the sheet surface and pressing rollers are provided for setting the powder on the paper sheet.

Apparatus for applying and fixing a magnetizable powder on a charged

A detachably engaged unit is provided for association with a copying machine wherein the unit contains a housing which is detachably connected through a power coupling to the copying machine. The unit includes a support arrangement for supporting a sheet of paper having an image thereon in charge relief, a conveying arrangement for transferring the sheet of paper containing the image thereon to a station where chargeable powder is transferred to the charged surface, and a pressing arrangement spaced rearwardly therefrom for fixing the image on the paper under pressure. The unit makes it possible to readily detach the support arrangement, the powder applying arrangement and the pressing arrangement from the copying machine for repair, replacement or service.
