A method and apparatus for a pull tab opening mechanism utilized in container systems for easy opening and convenient manufacturing. The method and apparatus therefor comprising a base paper stock in which a pour hole is die cut. The paper stock being laminated with layers of aluminum foil and polyethylene which cover the die cut pour hole. A pull tab system adhered to the top of the laminated structure advantageously provides an opening mechanism which does not compromise the integrity of the container and is easily manufactured.

Easy open tab sealer for packages

The invention disclosed provides a resealable closure system for a non-rigid product bag. The resealable closure system is generally an adhesive strip affixed to a non-rigid product bag which allows the bag to be reclosed a multiple number of times. The resealable closure system has a permanent adhesive on the first surface such that the system can be affixed to a non-rigid product bag and positioned between the top and the bottom of the bag. The second surface of the bag has a controlled peel adhesive disposed thereon. A release liner containing perforations cut essentially perpendicular to the system's length cover the controlled peel adhesive until use. These perforations permit defined segments of the release liner to be removed to expose new areas of adhesive thereby providing fresh securing sites for subsequent closure and sealing of the bag.

Resealable closure system

The invention disclosed provides a flexible container which may be reclosed using a reusable closure system. The reusable closure system is an adhesive strip affixed to the flexible container which allows the flexible container to be reclosed a multiple number of times. The preferred method of closing the container comprises about any product contained therein between the open end of the container to substantially close the container. The gathered portion is then twisted and open end of the container is folded about the gathered portion and secured to any site on the container by means of the adhesive strip. A pressure sensitive adhesive utilized in conjunction with the strip quick-tack and quick-peel characteristics and does not permanently adhere to itself. The strip is usable over a broad range of temperatures and enables reclosing of a variety of containers both easily and effectively.

Reclosable flexible container and method of reclosing

A label assembly comprising a releasable portion which may be used as an in-store coupon constructed of a base stock having a first and second film layer having a controlled interfacial bond therebetween which will retain the film layers in integral relationship during handling or the like, but will also allow the easy separation between the film layers when desired. The controlled interfacial bond may be termed as 'controlled adhesion' which is obtained by co-extruding two dissimilar polymer layers having a controlled affinity therebetween. A pressure sensitive adhesive layer is laminated to the second film layer and is provided with a release liner for the easy handling thereof. A face stock comprising a top sheet forming an in-store coupon, for example, is then adhered to the first film layer of the base stock structure to complete the label assembly. The releasable portion may be removed from the label assembly by breaking the controlled interfacial bond between the two film layers leaving no tacky or sticky surfaces behind, and allowing a clear, unobstructed view of the primary label graphics and coupon or other information on the releasable portion. The label assembly may be manufactured in an easy and cost effective manner and is suitable for various uses such as providing a controlled surface for reclosing a product container or as a tamper evident container closure assembly.
