A hydropneumatic suspension system having at least one shock and vibration damper including a cylinder-piston unit (2) provided with a gas storer (34) co-acting with a damping valve (60) provided with choke valves (88, 90, 92, 94). The choke valves (88, 90, 92, 94) include valve elements (96) biased with springs (98) in a closing direction of the valve elements (96). The bias tension of the springs (98) is variable by a setting member (100) acting on these springs (98) in common in a closing or opening direction of the valve elements (96). A load-dependent adjustment of the damping can be achieved, as the setting member (100) is driven by the pressure present inside the gas storer (34).

Hydropneumatic suspension system

A hydraulic shock-absorber and vibration damper comprising a cylinder (1), a damping piston (2) disposed so as to be axially movable inside the cylinder (1) and dividing off two working chambers (9, 10) filled with a hydraulic damping medium and connected by at least one throttle means (62), a piston rod (3) connected to the damping piston (2) and guided in sealing-tight manner out of the cylinder (1), and a compensating chamber (11) connected to one (9) of the working chambers (9, 10) for receiving a volume of damping medium displaced by the piston rod (3). A damping valve (26) driven by an electromagnet (24) and acted upon by a closing force is disposed at the transition between the working chamber (9) and the compensating chamber (11). The damping valve (26) is disposed in series with the throttle means (62), so that all the damping medium flowing between the working chamber (9) and the compensating chamber (11) flows through the damping valve (26). The electromagnet (24) is connected to a valve body (30) of the damping valve (26) so that its closing force can be varied directly via the electromagnet (24).

Hydraulic shock-absorber and vibration damper with adjustable damping

A hydropneumatic shock-absorber and vibration damper comprising a cylinder (1) a damping piston (2) disposed for axial movement inside the cylinder (1) and dividing off two working chambers filled with a hydraulic damping medium and connected by a connection which includes at least one throttle, a piston rod (3) mechanically connected to the damping piston and guided outwardly from the cylinder (1) in sealing-tight manner, a compensating chamber (11) connected to one (9) of the working chambers (9, 10) for receiving a volume of damping medium displaced by the piston rod (3), and a pneumatic spring chamber (13) filled with a compressible medium and separated in sealing-tight manner from the compensating chamber (11) by a freely movable floating piston (12). The piston rod (3) is a hollow cylinder and the damping piston (2) is annular. An inner tube (6) extending with slight peripheral clearance through the annular damping piston (2) and into the hollow cylindrical piston rod (3) is disposed inside cylinder (1) and coaxial therewith. The piston (12) separating the compensating chamber (11) from the pneumatic spring chamber (13) is guided inside the inner tube (6).

Hydraulic shock-absorber and vibration damper with an inner tube

An hydraulic rotation damper comprises a bearing housing with inner stator vanes and a rotor with rotor vanes, the rotor being arranged on a carrier arm journal which is mounted in bearings in the bearing housing with the stator vanes and the rotor vanes forming working chambers. At least one damping valve is provided for transferring working medium from pressure-loaded working chambers into unloaded working chambers. Further, the working chambers are closed at both ends by end walls containing valve-controlled passages leading into annular gaps which are separated by the end walls from the working chambers. This permits pressure medium at a pressure corresponding to the working pressure in the respective working chambers to be fed to the annular gaps where the pressure medium applies pressure to the outer surfaces of the end walls of the working chambers to prevent axial displacement of those walls.
