An auxiliary handle is for use with a power tool having a housing that includes a first notch and a second notch. The auxiliary handle includes a shaft, a first clamp coupled to the shaft and having a first protrusion configured to engage the first notch, and a second clamp arranged on the shaft and having a second protrusion configured to engage the second notch. When the first protrusion of the first clamp engages the first notch, the second clamp is movable along the shaft between a first position, in which the second protrusion engages the second notch, and a second position, in which the second protrusion is disengaged from the second notch. The auxiliary handle also includes a grip coupled to the shaft. When the grip is rotated relative to the second clamp, the second clamp is moved from the second position toward the first position.

Power tool dust collector

A power tool assembly includes a hand-held power tool, a dust collector removably coupled to the power tool, and first and second power tool battery packs each of which is interchangeably coupled with the power tool and the dust collector for separately powering the power tool and the dust collector, respectively.

An auxiliary handle can be used with a power tool having a housing that includes a first notch and a second notch. The auxiliary handle includes a shaft, a first clamp coupled to the shaft and having a first protrusion configured to engage the first notch, a second clamp arranged on the shaft and having a second protrusion configured to engage the second notch, and a grip coupled to the shaft. When the first protrusion of the first clamp engages the first notch and the grip is rotated relative to the second clamp, the second clamp is moved toward the first clamp, such that the first protrusion engages the first notch and the second protrusion engages the second notch to couple the auxiliary handle to the housing of the power tool.

A hand-held band saw has a handle for grasping the band saw, a motor, a drive wheel driven by the motor, a driven wheel and a continuous blade disposed about the drive wheel and the driven wheel. A portion of the continuous blade is positioned in a cut zone to perform a cutting operation. A workpiece guard is spaced from the portion of the continuous blade and positioned between the portion of the continuous blade and the handle for limiting movement of the workpiece after the cutting operation.

A hand-held band saw for cutting a workpiece. The hand-held band saw includes a deck, first and second wheels coupled to the deck for receiving a continuous blade thereabout, a motor coupled to the deck for driving at least one of the first or second wheels, and a handle providing a grip for a user to hold the band saw. The band saw also includes a blade guard having a first portion adjacent the first wheel, a second portion adjacent the second wheel, and a third portion adjoining the first and second portions. A joint couples the first, second, and third portions to the deck for simultaneous movement of the first, second, and third portions with respect to the deck.

An impact tool includes a housing, a motor supported in the housing, an output shaft rotatably supported in the housing about a central axis, an impact mechanism coupled between the motor and the output shaft and operable to impart a striking rotational force to the output shaft, and a clutch mechanism coupled between the impact mechanism and the output shaft. The clutch mechanism is operable in a first mode, in which torque from the motor is transferred to the output shaft through the impact mechanism, and a second mode, in which torque from the motor is diverted from the output shaft toward a portion of the impact mechanism.

A hand-held band saw having a deck defining a front and a rear, and an opening in the front defining a cut zone. The band saw also includes a first wheel supported by a first deck portion, a second wheel supported by a second deck portion, a motor operably coupled to the first wheel, a single handle providing a single grip for a user to hold the band saw with only one hand, and a continuous blade having a cutting edge. The continuous blade includes a first portion positioned in the cut zone for performing a cutting operation and a second portion positioned outside of the cut zone. A blade guard is positioned proximate the cutting edge of the second portion of the continuous blade to substantially provide a barrier between the cutting edge and an exterior of the band saw.

A multi-stage planetary transmission includes a transmission housing and a first planetary stage at least partially positioned in a transmission housing. The first planetary stage includes a first stage ring gear, a first stage carrier, and a plurality of first stage planet gears supported by the first stage carrier. A motor output pinion is engaged with each of the first stage plant gears. The transmission further includes a second planetary stage positioned downstream of the first planetary stage to receive torque from the first planetary stage and a shift mechanism operable to move the first stage ring gear between a first position, in which the first stage ring gear is rotatably fixed relative to the transmission housing for enabling the first planetary stage, and a second position, in which the first stage ring gear is coupled for co-rotation with the first stage carrier for disabling the first planetary stage.

Multi-stage transmission for a power tool

A reciprocating power tool that includes a drive system having a first driven gear that includes a spindle counterbalance weight and a second driven gear that includes a spindle counterbalance weight. The first driven gear and the second driven gear rotate in opposite directions about an axis of rotation in response to rotation of a driving gear by a motor. The power tool further includes a spindle having a longitudinal axis and a first end that is configured to support a tool element. The spindle is coupled to one of the first driven gear and the second driven gear by a scotch yoke mechanism to reciprocate the spindle with respect to a housing of the power tool along the longitudinal axis of the spindle in response to operation of the motor.

Reciprocating power tool having a counterbalance device

A power tool includes a housing, a motor supported in the housing, a transmission operably coupled to the motor, an output shaft rotatable about a central axis, a clutch mechanism including a resilient member, and a clutch mechanism adjustment assembly having a first ring rotatable about the central axis. The first ring includes a cam surface spaced from the central axis in a radial direction. The clutch mechanism adjustment assembly also includes a second ring coaxial with the first cam ring and in facing relationship with the cam surface, and a cam member disposed between the cam surface and the second ring. In response to rotation of the first ring relative to the second ring, the cam member engages the cam surface to displace the first ring relative to the second ring and compress the resilient member to increase the amount of torque transferred to the output shaft.

Precision torque tool

An auxiliary handle for use with a power tool includes a first clamp for engaging a housing of the power tool at a first location, and a second clamp for engaging the housing at a second location. The second clamp is movable independent from the first clamp in a first direction toward the first clamp to couple the auxiliary handle to the housing and the second clamp movable independent from the first clamp in a second direction away from the first clamp to uncouple the auxiliary handle from the housing. The auxiliary handle further includes a grip operable to move the second clamp in at least one of the first and the second directions, and together the first clamp and the second clamp surround only a portion of a chuck of the power tool.
