An arrangement for locking the steering shaft of a motor vehicle, includes a blocking device and a toothed ring which is arranged on the steering shaft and in which a blocking element, which is arranged so that it can be displaced from an unlocked position into a locked position, of the blocking device engages. To allow the blocking device to be attached to the steering device of the vehicle in question and exchanged in a simple manner and to ensure that the blocking device cannot be removed in the locked state of the blocking element, the blocking device, which is provided with a housing, is releasably connected to a flange, which is attached to the steering device, via an adapter part. The flange has a recess which is designed in such a manner that the adapter part, for fitting of the blocking device, can be inserted in a partial area of the recess and can then be displaced along a guide into its limit position. Moreover, transverse webs are arranged between the teeth of the toothed ring, which webs, in the locked position of the blocking element, prevent axial displacement of the adapter part along the recess in the flange to the partial area.

Arrangement for electrically locking the steering shaft of a steering device

Device for locking the steering spindle of a vehicle

A device for electrically locking the steering shaft of a motor vehicle steering device, which comprises an electric motor with actuator connected downstream, for displacing a blocking element which is arranged so that it can be displaced from its unlocked position into its locked position, and a switching device fore activating the electric motor. To ensure that the arrangement can be of very compact design and can be fitted without major changes in vehicles produced by different manufacturers, the invention proposes that the arrangement be composed of two separate subassemblies: a locking device with a first housing, in which the electric motor with actuator connected downstream and the blocking element is arranged, and manufacturer-specific electronic switching device, which can be attached o the outside of the first housing.

Arrangement for electrically locking the steering shaft of a motor vehicle steering device

The invention concerns a lock cylinder with a cylinder core arranged rotatable in a housing and an overload coupling device, which consists of at least one radially slidable tang which is connected non-rotatable to the cylinder core, as well as of a control element cooperating with the tang in case of overload. In order to establish that the control element, in the case of overload, causes a radial shifting of the tang in a simple and certain way and thereby a decoupling of the cylinder core from the output element, the invention proposes using, as the control element, a ring shaped element which is arranged non-rotatable, but longitudinally slidable in the housing, and which also has diagonal guide surfaces on both the side facing its cylinder liner and on its side facing the tang, which support themselves on the corresponding guide surfaces of the cylinder liner and tang, respectively, so that a rotational movement of the cylinder liner leads to an axial shifting of the control ring, which then causes a radial shifting of the tang.

Lock cylinder

A steering and ignition lock has a locking cylinder which is provided on its circumference with a control cam for cooperation with a control pin (16). A slide member is linearly displaceable if released by the control pin which may be moved into and out of the path of the slide member to lock the slide member or to release the slide member. The slide member is either connected, for example through a Bowden cable, to the transmission selector lever, or to a safety lever so that the operability of the steering and ignition depends on the prior operation of the gear shift lever or of the safety lever.
