A vehicle seat assembly convertible between a use position and a non-use position. The vehicle seat assembly includes a seat with a seat cushion support, a seatback, a base that connects to a vehicle, a front pivot linkage supported by the base by a first joint and pivotally connected to the seat cushion support by a second joint, and a rear foot pivotally supported by the base by a third joint. A pivoting movement of the rear foot about the third joint is lockable. The rear foot is connected to the seatback by a fourth joint. The vehicle seat also includes a fifth joint that connects the seatback to the seat cushion support, wherein the fourth joint is a latch and the fifth joint provides a free pivot, and wherein the fourth joint is latched when the seat moves from the use position to a boarding non-use position.

A seating system for a vehicle includes a first seat assembly having a first seat base and a first armrest that is convertible between an armrest position and a center seat position, and a second seat assembly having a second seat base and a second armrest that is convertible between an armrest position and a middle seat position. The seating system also includes a convertible third seat assembly located between the first and second seat assemblies and having a third seat formed by the first armrest and the second armrest in the middle seat position, wherein the first and second armrests are moveable between the armrest position and the center seat position.

The assembly also includes a second pivot mechanism comprising a pair of locking pivot mechanisms coupled to the second seatback for releasably holding the second seatback in an upright position, a dump spring operatively coupled to the second seatback to spring bias the second seatback towards the folded position, and a second mechanism comprising a pull mechanism for releasing the second pair of pivot mechanisms to allow the second seatback to move to the folded position.

Vehicle seating assembly having locking pivot mechanisms

A vehicle seating assembly includes a frame movable between a sitting position and a standing position and pivotably coupled to a vehicle floor at a pivotable coupling defining a first axis of rotation. The vehicle seating assembly has a pivot bracket coupled to the vehicle floor, a linkage assembly with a link extending between the pivot bracket and the frame, and a shaft extending through the pivot bracket and the link in a direction transverse to the link, and defining a second axis of rotation. The vehicle assembly also includes a gear assembly with a sector gear and a pinion gear operable to move the sector gear from a first position to a second position, and a pawl assembly coupled to the sector gear and selectively engageable with the shaft to position the shaft in fixed and unfixed positions.

Seating assembly with powered or manual actuation

A vehicle seating assembly includes a seat base operably coupled with a seatback and an anchor housing operably coupled with one of the seat base and the seatback. The anchor housing includes a body defining a cavity and a slot in communication with the cavity. First and second sidewalls of the body define first and second receiving wells, respectively. A cam includes first and second arms that include first and second protrusions, respectively. The first and second protrusions are configured to be received by the first and second receiving wells, respectively. The cam is positioned within the cavity of the body and is rotatable between an open position and a closed position. An anchor extends between the seat base and the seatback and is operably coupled with the anchor housing when the cam is in the closed position.

A seating assembly is provided that includes a seatback movable into a pitched position along a track. A first cam is engageable with a release lever of the track. A second cam is engageable with a bypass cam that is raised over a stop as the seatback moves to the pitched position. An intermediate lock is engageable with a pin positioned on a middle support arm of the seat base when the seatback is in the pitched position.

Seating assembly

A seat assembly includes a seat back frame, a support and a bracket subassembly. The bracket subassembly connects the seat back frame to the support. The bracket subassembly includes a first bracket having a first attachment feature and a second bracket having a second attachment feature wherein the first and second attachment features engage to lock the bracket assembly around the support. An articulating locking mechanism includes a support bracket with an upwardly opening receiving slot having an open top portion and closed bottom portion. A spring member is coupled to the support bracket at a mounting portion and includes a ramp portion disposed adjacent to the receiving slot. A pivot member includes a pivot bushing and a rotating mounting shaft extending outwardly from the pivot bushing. The pivot bushing is received in the receiving slot of the support bracket, and is retained by the ramp portion of the spring member when the pivot bushing is fully seated in the receiving slot of the support bracket.

A seat back pivot assembly includes a floor mounting bracket and a seat bushing assembly. The floor mounting bracket includes a receiver having an entry end, a locating end and a neck between the entry end and the locating end. The seat bushing assembly includes a shoulder bolt, a bushing and a spring. A shoulder on a head end of the shoulder bolt is received and held in the locating end of the receiver when the seat back pivot assembly is fully assembled.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a seatback and a rear bracket pivotally supporting the seatback and slidably engaging a track assembly. A seat has a four-bar linkage that includes a top link for supporting a cushion, a bottom link, a rear link pivotally coupling a rearward portion of the top link with a rearward portion of the bottom link, and a front link pivotally coupling a forward portion of the top link with a forward portion of the bottom link. A connecting member pivotally couples the bottom link with the seatback. Pivoting the seatback forward about the rear bracket causes the connecting member to collapse the linkage rearward to a stowed position. A base member pivotally couples an intermediate portion of the front link with a fixed front bracket. Sliding the seatback forward causes the seat to pivot upward about the base member to a rear access position.

A vehicle seating assembly including a seat having a top surface. A seatback includes a back support surface. A tab extends forward from the seatback. A track assembly includes a rail and a slide. A bracket is coupled to the slide and includes an elongate slot disposed at a mid-portion thereof. A linkage includes a first end coupled with the seat. A second end is coupled with the tab. A protrusion is disposed at an intermediate portion of the linkage and is engaged with the elongate slot. Movement of the protrusion is relative to the elongate slot, causing translation of the seating assembly between a deployed position, in which a planar extent of the seatback extends substantially orthogonally relative to a planar extent of the seat, and a stowed position, in which the top surface of the seat and the back support surface of the seatback are in abutting contact.

Easy slim fold seat

A vehicle seating assembly includes a track assembly having a rail and a base member slidably engaged with the rail and supporting a seatback. A bracket is coupled to the rail and supports a seat with an articulation feature. A linkage couples the seat with the seatback. A coupler is engaged with the articulation feature. Movement of the coupler relative to the articulation feature translates the seating assembly between a deployed position, wherein the seat is generally orthogonal to the seatback, and a stowed position, wherein the seatback abuts the seat and is generally parallel to the rail. A hinge in the linkage causes translation from the deployed position to an access position. The seat is generally orthogonal to the rail and the seatback is slid to a forward segment of the rail.
