A fire detection and/or extinguishing control station for actuating two extinguishing agent supply devices using a control unit. After actuating a first extinguishing agent supply device () upon detection of a first fire signal at time (t), the control station is additionally equipped to actuate a second extinguishing agent supply device () upon detection of a second fire signal at time (t) if the control station has checked whether the time (t) fulfills the inequality (t+t)&#x3c;t&#x3c;(t+t), where (t) represents a discharge time of the complete or partial discharge of at least one extinguishing agent container () of the first extinguishing agent supply device (), (t) represents a check time connected to the discharge time (t), and (t) represents a monitoring time period, and the monitoring time period (t) is the sum of the discharge time (t) and the check time (t) beginning at time (t).

Control station and method for actuating two extinguishing agent supply devices

A method and device for early detection of fires is based on the detection of volatile thermolysis products which are characteristic of the material to be monitored, ambient air being aspirated from an area to be monitored with respect to fire and being ionized, the ionized gas flow being channeled through an electromagnetic field, the resulting field strength of which modifying the trajectories of the ions in their temporal and spatial dependence with a parameter set in such a manner that positive and/or negative ions of the ionized gas are forced onto pre-determined trajectories and are detected for generating a fire alarm. Accordingly, fires can be detected quickly and reliably in the earliest possible phase before their full development so that taking or initiating follow-up actions can occur particularly quickly and at an early stage.

Method and a device for early detection of fires

A method for fire detection in enclosed environments () subject to explosion protection regulations out of which an air-dust mixture is filtered while the concentration of dust of the air-dust mixture is lowered to under the explosion limit by a filter () and the aspirated air-dust mixture is checked for burning characteristics and if appropriate a fire alarm is triggered, in which the function of the filter () is monitored, the fire detection is carried out by use of an aspirating smoke detector system () not approved for use in potentially explosive areas but instead is deployed outside the ex-zone and if the filter () is destroyed a signal processing unit () of a malfunction monitoring sensor () generates a signal which initiates a subsequent action preventing aspirated air-dust mixture with an elevated concentration of dust from entering the aspirating smoke detector system ().

Method and device for fire detection in enclosed environments

A fire alarm consists of a housing in which sensors, a radiation source, and an optical window are disposed. A reflector protection basket or ring is disposed above the optical window. The basket or ring is suitable for protecting the optical window against mechanical influences, allows UV and IR radiation to pass through to a sufficient degree, and reflects UV and IR radiation from the housing interior, on its inside. Monitoring of the contamination of the window, function monitoring of the sensors and of the signal processing electronics, as well as easy replaceability of the components in the fire alarm are provided.
