Automatic lathe for machining work bars

An index plate (9) is moiunted on a shaft (7) which is supported against axial displacement on a machine frame (1) and is stepwise rotatably drivable, said plate carrying clamping devices (10) arranged around the shaft and each intended for one workpiece (11). On either side of the indexing plate (9) a unit carrier (20) is arranged axially displaceably of the unit carriers (20) towards the indexing plate (9) into a stop position and for displacement of the unit carriers (20) away from the indexing plate a displacement drive (31) is associated with each of said carriers. The two unit carriers (20) are guided solely on the shaft (7) and are supported on the machine frame (1) only against rotation. Each of the unit carriers (20) comprises a crown wheel type serration or toothing (29) which faces the indexing plate (9) and which in the stop position of the respective unit carrier is in torque-transmitting engagement with a crown wheel type serration (28) formed on the indexing plate (9) and defining the stop position. Arranged on each of the unit carriers (20) are a plurality of working units (45). For executing feed movements the working units (45) are guided displaceably on the associated unit carriers (20) and each connected to a feed unit (53) activatable in the stop position thereof.

Multistation working machine with working unit coupling and stairstep

An indexing plate (9) is mounted on a shaft (7) which is supported against axial displacement on a machine frame (1) and is stepwise rotatably drivable, said plate carrying clamping devices (10) arranged around the shaft and each intended for one workpiece (11). On either side of the indexing plate (9) a unit carrier (20) is arranged axially displaceably with respect to the shaft (7). For displacement of the unit carriers (20) towards the indexing plate (9) into a stop position and for displacement of the unit carriers (20) away from the indexing plate a displacement drive (31) is associated with each of said carriers. The two unit carriers (20) are guided solely on the shaft (7) and are supported on the machine frame (1) only against rotation. Each of the unit carriers (20) comprises a crown wheel type serration or toothing (29) which faces the indexing plate (9) and which in the stop position of the respective unit carrier is in torque-transmitting engagement with a crown wheel type serration (28) formed on the indexing plate (9) and defining the stop position. Arranged on each of the unit carriers (20) are a plurality of working units (45). For executing feed movements the working units (45) are guided displaceably on the associated unit carriers (20) and each connected to a feed unit (53) activatable in the stop position thereof.

Multistation working machine

A casing (10) is formed with two cylinder chambers (21, 22) in overlapping arrangement between an inlet (43) and an outlet (44). A rotary piston (27, 28) each is fixed to a respective one of two shafts (17, 18) extending through a cylinder chamber (21, 22) each and being interconnected for rotation in opposite sense. The rotary pistons (27, 28) are complementary and each have an exterior face (29, 30) coaxial with the corresponding shaft (17, 18), the exterior faces periodically forming sealing zones with the casing (10) and with a respective exterior face (38, 37) of respective sleeve (35, 36) each which is coaxial with the shaft (18, 17) of the complementary rotary piston (28, 27). Each sleeve (35, 36) is sealingly arranged and rotatable between a respective one of the rotary pistons (27, 28) and the corresponding shaft (17, 18). The exterior faces (29, 30) of each complementary rotary piston periodically engage the exterior faces (37, 38) of each sleeve to periodically drive in rotation each sleeve (35, 36) at a speed greater than that of the corresponding rotary piston (27, 28) and shaft (17, 18). In this manner flow losses and control problems caused by the same are largely avoided.

Rotary piston engine

A work turret is rotated by steps around a central axis with a first group of a multiplicity of clamping devices formed to clamp one side of a workpiece each facing a charging device for feeding in workpieces, and a second group of clamping devices on the side of the work turret averted from the charging device formed to clamp the machined end of a workpiece each. A gripper can be moved to and fro between the two sides of the work turret by which partially machined workpieces are removed from the clamping device of the first group and turned to be clamped in the clamping devices of the second group.

Automatic multiple workpiece turning machine

The method and apparatus relates to the production of turned workpieces on multi-station machine tools. In such machines rod stock is introduced into a clamping device (collet chuck) of the machine and is clamped thereby. A rod section is severed at a distance from the clamping device and the free end protruding from the clamping device is turned. In such a process a section from the rod stock is introduced into the clamping device, clamped fast there and severed, which section comprises a multiple of the machining length and in addition a clamping section sufficing for the clamping of one single machining length section. This multiple section is moved by sections corresponding in each case to the machining length section out of the clamping device. The rod stock is clamped fast during turning over a following machining length section in each case, the last machining length section being clamped fast by means of the provided additional clamping section. The machined workpiece is sawn from the clamped-fast residue of the multiple section in each case.

Method and apparatus for the production of turned workpieces on

An automatic transfer machine having a plurality of machining units on a common table top with tool carriers above and a common drive below the table top connected through openings in the table top by distributor gears connecting the common drive with intermediate shafts, which shafts are arranged at approximately at right angles relative to the plane of the table top. Universal joint shafts which are telescopically extensible extend through each of the table top openings connecting intermediate shafts from below the table top to step down gears and control elements above the table top.

Automatic transfer machine

A machining unit with a working spindle supported in a spindle housing and a saddle on which the spindle housing is removably secured and which is guided on a saddle carrier for sliding movement axially of the working spindle to cause the working spindle to be moved by feed motions, and with a drive motor secured to the saddle carrier and a transmission driven by the drive motor, the transmission having a hollow shaft in which the working spindle is guided for axial sliding movement and for rotation by the hollow shaft supported in a holder adjustable and lockable relative to the saddle carrier in two directions perpendicular to the axial direction of the working spindle.
