A digital printing process for inkjet printing on a recording medium using ink including a carrier liquid and a colorant, in particular on a recording medium which is configured not to absorb the carrier liquid or to absorb only a portion of the carrier liquid during the inkjet printing. The process includes the steps of: jetting ink on the recording medium; bringing one or more continuously rotating members in rotational contact with the jetted ink on the recording medium such that a colorant-poor portion of the ink is adsorbed to the one or more rotating members and a colorant-rich portion remains on the recording medium. The colorant-rich portion includes more colorant than said colorant-poor portion. The process further includes continuously removing said colorant-poor portion of the one or more continuously rotating members.

A measurement apparatus for determining a measure for the solid content of a liquid toner. The liquid toner includes a carrier liquid with marking particles, and the solid content is the ratio of the mass of the marking particles divided by the mass of the liquid toner. The measurement apparatus includes a measurement space for receiving liquid toner. The measurement space includes at least one hydrostatic pressure sensor configured and arranged for measuring data representative for the hydrostatic pressure caused by the liquid toner at least one predetermined position in the measurement space. The measurement apparatus also includes a controller configured for receiving the measured data and for determining a measure for the solid content of the liquid toner based on the received data.

Disclosed is a liquid toner dispersion which has a relative low shear viscosity between 1.25 and 225 and a relative conductivity between 0.3 and 30. The liquid toner dispersion includes toner particles in a non-polar carrier liquid, as well as a dispersing agent. This liquid toner dispersion is used in a digital printing process including adding dispersing agent during recycling of excess liquid toner dispersion remaining on a development member after patterned transfer of liquid toner dispersion to the imaging member.

A device is described for fixing a toner image carried on a substrate. A heated fuser roller is in contact with a reaction surface to form a nip through which the substrate passes. An applicator roller is in rolling contact with the heated fuser roller. A transfer roller is in rolling contact with the applicator roller. A release agent path is established from a supply via the transfer roller and the applicator roller to the heated fuser roller. Scraper blades define the release agent films carried on the applicator roller and the transfer roller. The consumption of release agent is thereby minimized, and the thickness of the release agent film on the heated fuser roller is substantially independent of the presence or absence of substrate sheets passing through the nip.
