A lithotriptor station has a shockwave generator connected to a drive circuit and an x-ray system for generating an image of the calculi to be disintegrated. An output of the x-ray system is applied to a detection circuit which forms an electrical signal corresponding to the degree of calculus disintegration in the x-ray image. The electrical signal is supplied through a computer to the drive circuit for the shockwave generator for controlling the number of shockwaves administered.

An X-ray diagnostic system for angiographic X-ray examinations having an X-ray source for irradiating a patient, a television image intensification chain, and an image subtraction device for producing images which are the result of the difference between images taken at a progression of discrete times during which the concentration of an X-ray contrast medium in blood vessels changes. The subtraction device is provided with two image memories. A control device having a preprogrammable memory controls the times at which image data are stored in the image memories. The preprogrammable memory may be programmed for each time of image storage, or may be programmed only for the times of storage in the first image memory and a time delay factor for storage in the second image memory relative to the times of storage in the first image memory. The time delay factor may be constant or variable.

An X-ray diagnostic system for angiographic X-ray examinations having an X-ray source for irradiating a patient, a television image intensification chain, a digital semiconductor memory for storing image data and an image subtraction device for producing images which are the result of the difference between images taken with the patients injected with an X-ray contrast medium and images taken without the X-ray contrast medium. The resulting subtraction image shows only the blood vessels important to the examination. A control device directs the storage of data in the digital semiconductor memories. The memories contain data for successive images and, when full, may be overwritten by subsequent image data.

In an exemplary embodiment, an mAs relay having selector keys and also a digitally operating manual control for selection of mAs products is capable of being switched over for digital selection of the exposure time independently of later radiographic current selection. The operating threshold of the mAs relay is then adjusted by the digital selection of exposure time. For the purpose of overload protection, a power circuit can be present which in a step-by-step fashion reduces the x-ray tube power via the x-ray tube current to a permissible value when preprogrammed times, e.g. planigraphic exposure times provided for planigraphic operation, are exceeded for the given settings of radiographic current and voltage.

In an exemplary embodiment an inverter manifests a circuit for the alternate connection of the terminals of an LC oscillatory circuit with the poles of a d.c. voltage source. The primary winding of the high voltage transformer is connected in series with the capacitor to form the LC oscillatory circuit. By this means, a short-circuit proof state of the inverter results.

There is connected to the input of the inverter a smoothing circuit which is fed by a mains rectifier.
