A one-armed ejection lever of a coining press is adapted to be controlled in one end section directly by the coining ram by way of a connecting rod and in the other end section by an operating piston-cylinder unit. The center portion of the ejection lever is placed by way of a pressure bolt against the projecting end of an ejection rod. The abutment pressure is produced by the operating piston-cylinder unit whereby the ejection coining die is able to yield by way of the ejection rod, for example, in case two pieces to be coined are in the coining tool in order to avoid damages. For multiple coining, it is additionally possible to act upon the operating piston cylinder unit in the opposite direction and to effect therewith an intentional lifting-off of the pressure bolt from the ejection rod.

Coining press

Beading apparatus is provided for producing a bead on the periphery of a hollow cylinder, such as a cam body. A rotatable inner ring and a rotatable outer ring co-act to deform a portion of the hollow cylinder therebetween to form a bead. To accommodate a firm backing of the exterior of the hollow cylinder during beading operations, while also permitting the removal of a beaded hollow cylinder from the apparatus, a depressor is provided which is formed as a basket with springing tongues separated by axially extending slots. A tapered cylinder liner is provided for forcing the springing tongues to a smaller diameter configuration to provide backing for the hollow cylinder during beading operations, with the springing tongues being movable to a larger diameter to permit removal of the hollow cylinder subsequent to beading operations.

Apparatus for producing a bead on the periphery of a hollow cylinder

An apparatus for the intermittent feeding of web-type or strip-type material by means of feed roll into an operating chamber of a press. The feed rolls are driven by a main press drive through a mechanical connection and a feed gear mechanism. A scrap cutter is provided which can be driven in correspondence with the operating cycle of the press. The mechanical connection can be selectively severed or interrupted with an auxiliary drive mechanism being provided which is adapted to be connected to the apparatus. The scrap cutter may be driven by a separate drive mechanism in correspondence with the cycle of the feed gear mechanism.

Apparatus for intermittent feeding of web-type or strip-type material

A device for producing a bead on a circumference of a hollow cylinder seeks to minimize the risk of unwanted deformations of the hollow cylinder such as wrinkles or bulges which can result when an area of the hollow cylinder to be beaded is forced inward without support. In a preferred embodiment, the device of producing a bead on a hollow cylinder includes an internal tool and an external tool which can be adjusted in a controlled manner in the radial direction, the internal tool comprising a support mandrel and an inner ring which is adjacent to the supporting mandrel in the axial direction and is capable of being adjusted radially relative thereto, and the external tool includes an outer ring which surrounds the inner ring and a hold-down ring which is axially adjacent the outer ring and capable of being adjusted radially relative thereto. A preferred arrangement utilizes axially oriented springs whose forces are deflected radially inwards by tapered ring surfaces and assure proper relative movements of the several radially shiftable parts.

Device for producing a bead on the circumference of a hollow cylinder

A plurality of toggle drive mechanisms are provided for transferring rotational shaft movement as linear movement of a press ram guidably supported in a press frame. Each of the toggle joint drive mechanisms includes a triangular shaped drive member eccentrically driven by a crankshaft, which drive member is pivotally connected to a pair of respective facing link members, which link members in turn are pivotally attached one each to the press frame and the press ram. The pivotal connection of the link members to the drive members are at corners of the triangle facing away from the smallest acute angle corner of the guide member. In one preferred embodiment, four separate such toggle joint drive mechanisms are provided for a single press ram and are connected by way of lower link members at four respective ram coupling points of the press ram. Other preferred embodiments include only two ram coupling points, with symmetrical drive being obtained by way of pin members interconnecting triangular guide members at opposite sides of a third triangular guide member, and with one of the sets of link members being connected to these pins so that the link members are symmetrically arranged with respect to link members attached at the third guide member.

Press with toggle joint drive mechanisms

Press apparatus including a blank holding ram and a drawing ram which are reciprocally driven such that the holding ram can hold a blank of material while the drawing ram moves relatively to the holding ram to perform a drawing operation on the blank. Stops are provided for limiting the movement of the holding ram with pressure fluid cushions being arranged in the drive train for the holding ram so as to accommodate a dwell phase with the holding rams against the stops during the drawing operation.

Apparatus for limiting the working stroke of a press ram

Apparatus for stripping hollow articles off of a press ram including a stripper supporting ring extending circumferentially around the press ram, a plurality of segments mounted on said supporting ring for limited radial displacement with respect to the press ram axis, and a plurality of individual hydraulically cushioned strippers mounted in each of said segments for direct engagement with the article to be stripped from the press ram. Various preferred embodiments include various mechanisms for permitting and/or positively providing radial displacement of the segments so as to accommodate passage of the press ram and article to be stripped. Several of these preferred embodiments include biasing means such as springs and/or pressure medium forces for biasing the segments radially inwardly and chamfered conical beveled edges on the segments for accommodating an outward biasing force application by way of the article and press ram. Other preferred embodiments include guide tracks rotatably mounted on the supporting ring for engagement with guide rollers carried by the segments for effecting a positive radial displacement of the segments sequentially timed to coincide with the press operation to prevent radial inward displacement of the segments during other than the stripping operations. In certain of the embodiments using the guide rollers, the guide rollers are maintained in contact with the guide tracks by spring means and/or pressure medium applied forces. In another preferred embodiment, two sets of guide rollers are provided for effecting a positive inward and a positive outward displacement of the segments.
