A plug-in connection comprises a plug-in connector () and a mating plug-in connector that can be plugged together with the latter. The plug-in connector () has a housing () into which an electrical conductor () is inserted. The electrical conductor () is electrically contacted with a contact partner () likewise arranged in the housing () by means of their surfaces coming to rest on each other. The contact partner () is contacted via its circumferential end face () with a contact partner of the mating plug-in connector in such a way that the end faces come to rest on each other. The plugging-together is effected and supported by a screw (). The screw includes insulation (e.g., insulating element () or a coating) such that the screw () does not touch voltage-carrying parts such as the electrical conductor () and/or the contact partner ().

Sealed plug-in connector

A plug-in connector for connecting to a glow plug in a diesel engine has a circular cross section and a plastic base body on which at least one strip contact is coaxially provided. The strip contact has a longitudinally extending slit and at least one protruding projection on the base body. After the strip contact is installed on the base body the projection is deformed in such a way that it projects at least partially over at least one web of the strip contact after being deformed.

A plug-type connector has a plug-type socket, a contact holder fittable in the plug-type socket, and a cover shell engaged around the contact holder and fittable with the plug-type socket. Latch formations on the cover shell and on the contact holder secure the holder and shell together in a prelatched position with the holder only partially fitted in the shell. Thus, when the holder is fitted in the socket, the shell is to the socket and the holder is shifted in the shell into a final position fully inserted in the shell.

A wire having a conductive core surrounded by an insulation sheath is fitted to an electrical connector having a housing formed with a longitudinally extending passage and a contact part in the passage. The contact part has a front end having pair of sides adapted to flank a contact pin engaged in the passage and a rear end adapted to grip the wire with a stripped end of the conductive core extending in the front end between the sides thereof alongside the pin. An anchor lug on one of the sides engages an inner surface of the passage and retains the contact part therein. A biasing element braced between the conductive core and an opposite inner surface of the passage presses the conductive core transversely against the pin.
