A method for communicating information associated with emergency calls communicated to emergency response centers includes receiving, by an emergency call analysis system, emergency call information that defines an emergency call communicated to an emergency response center within a geographic region. The emergency call information includes location information of the emergency call. The emergency call analysis system may then determine statistical information associated with emergency calls made within a geographic region. A computer server may then generate browser code executable by a browser to cause the browser to display the statistical information.

Emergency call analysis system

A system and method for using location data from actual 911 cell phone calls, to determine the coverage areas (orientation and range) of any sector (antenna) in a cell phone system. This coverage area is typically described as the area enclosed by a circular sector with the antenna at the center of the circle. The physical locations of the actually received 911 cell phone calls are determined with respect to the physical location of the antenna. These locations are typically defined in terms of latitude and longitude. A percentage of locations of the origins of the cell phone calls that is desired to be captured by the area enclosed by the circular sector are determined. Two variables are used to adjust the capture of the desired number of calls&#x2014;the length of the arc (expressed in terms of the percentage of phone calls enclosed by a given length) and the radius of the circle (range of the antenna) (again expressed in terms of the percentage of calls enclosed by the resulting area). The purported coverage area of the antenna is received from the cell phone service provider. The actual determined coverage area (including the locations of received calls) and the purported coverage area can be graphically represented on a single output. This output can be used by various agencies to determine the proper routing of future emergency 911 cell phone calls to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAP) to assist them in determining how cell phone calls to the antenna should be routed.

System and method for cell sector correction

A method for predicting a survival rate among individuals, where the survival rate depends in part on a responsiveness of emergency personnel, and the responsiveness of the emergency personnel depends in part on an amount of time taken to route an emergency call to a primary emergency response center, includes determining, by a computer system, a number of emergency calls initially routed to a primary emergency response center. The computer system determines a number of emergency calls initially routed to a secondary emergency response center that, in turn, routes the emergency calls to the primary emergency response center. The computer system calculates a survival rate amount individuals according to a function of the determined number of the number of emergency calls initially routed to a primary emergency response center and the number of emergency calls initially routed to a secondary emergency response center. The calculated survival rate is displayed on a terminal.

A system and method for automatically notifying others when a 9-1-1 emergency call has been placed from a cellular phone. The user selects the people who she would like to be contacted in the case of an emergency. The contact information (e.g., phone numbers and email address) for these notification contacts are entered into an application resident on the phone. In the event of an emergency, the application connects the user to the 9-1-1 system and automatically notifies the user's predetermined list of contacts via email and/or text notification. These notifications preferably contain the user's name, telephone number, current location, and the date/time of the 9-1-1 call.

Emergency call notification system and method

A system and method for determining the historical density of 911 calls from wireless devices. This determination is made over a certain geographical area for a statistically significant amount of time. Once the historical density of these wireless 911 calls has been determined, further determining the most efficient routing of future 911 calls in order to improve the delivery of the wireless 911 call to the responding emergency service provider. The system and the method further provides a method for use by public safety officials, communication providers and other governmental or private entities to manage and control approval and actual changes to the routing of wireless 911 calls.

System and method for determining the routing of 911 calls

An emergency call initiated from a wireline or wireless device is recognized at a point along a network path and an alert signal is generated. Additional information including real-time incident and response information is collected in response to the alert signal. The emergency call is associated with the additional information separate from information in the emergency call. A call is then automatically placed to a telephone number designated by the subscriber, the call including the additional information. The real-time incident and response information includes the location of the calling device, and one or more of incident specific information, person specific information, and vehicle specific information.

A registration method in a system for calling designated addressable notify devices in response to a 9-1-1 call. When a registration call is received from a new customer, the software proceeds with a voice answerback menu to register numbers to be notified. Two choices are provided. The customer can choose a standard notify service or a reverse notify service. In standard notify service parties designated by the customer are notified of 9-1-1 calls originating at the customers telephone. In reverse notify service if a party designated by the customer calls 9-1-1, the customer is notified of 9-1-1 calls originating at the designated party's telephone. The notify numbers are stored in a list in a database memory maintained by the notify service. If a call is received from a current subscriber, the software proceeds with a voice answerback menu to update the previously registered numbers to be notified. Subsequently, if a 9-1-1 call is placed from a station that has previously been registered with the service, the software automatically places a call to each addressable notify device on the subscriber's notify list. If an answer is confirmed, the software transmits a notify message over the telephone or wireless line.

Reverse registration method in a system for the automatic notification that a call to an emergency service has occurred

A system for calling designated addressable notify devices in response to a query to a local telephone company's ALI database system. An advertisement of the 9-1-1-call notification service directs the new subscriber to contact their local telephone provider to register with the new service. The local telephone provider supplies the new system with the registered subscriber's telephone number (ANI) and password. The new subscriber them calls the new service provider directly to register their addressable communication devices to be notified pending a positive reaction to an ALI database system query and the service providers subscriber database. When a registration call is received from a new subscriber, the software proceeds with a voice answerback menu to register numbers to be notified. The notify numbers are stored in a list in a database memory maintained by the notify service. If a call is received from a current subscriber, the software proceeds with a voice answerback menu to update the previously registered numbers to be notified. Subsequently, if a 9-1-1 call is placed from a station that has previously been registered with the service which initiates an ALI database query, the software automatically places a call to each addressable notify device on the subscriber's notify list. If an answer is confirmed, the software transmits a notify message over the telephone or wireless line. The message at least identifies the subscriber's telephone number, and the time and date of the call. If an answer is not confirmed, or the line is busy, the software turns on a 'call later' tag associated with the notify number corresponding to the unconfirmed or uncompleted call. Periodically, the software services any tagged, unconfirmed notify calls.
