A clutch assembly may have an axially slidable first plate, an axially fixed second plate disposed opposite the first plate, and a clutch pack arranged between the first plate and the second plate. The clutch pack may have a number of axially slidable consecutively arranged friction plates and separator plates. The assembly may also have an actuator axially movable between a first position and a second position, where, in the first position, the clutch pack is opened and, in the second position, the clutch pack is closed and the friction plates are frictionally engaged. The assembly may also have a return spring configured to bias the actuator in a direction away from the clutch pack towards the first position. The assembly may also have an engagement spring element configured to exert an elastic force on the clutch pack.

Clutch assembly

Described is a transmission including an input direction assembly, a first clutching assembly, a second clutching assembly, a first range clutching assembly, a second range clutching assembly and a housing. The input and direction selection assembly includes an input shaft, a first direction selection clutch assembly, a second direction selection clutch assembly and a reversing gear in driving engagement with the second direction selection clutch assembly and the input shaft. The first clutching assembly is selectively drivingly engaged with the input and direction selection assembly and the first range clutching assembly. The second clutching assembly is selectively drivingly engaged with the input and direction selection assembly. The first range clutching assembly is selectively drivingly engaged with the second clutching assembly and the second range clutching assembly.

Multi-gear transmission layout

A wet clutch assembly may have a clutch drum, a clutch chamber formed within the clutch drum, a clutch actuation piston movably disposed within the clutch drum and configured to be actuated via a hydraulic pressure in the clutch chamber. A fluid line may at least partially extend through the clutch actuation piston, where the fluid line provides fluid communication with the clutch chamber for filling the clutch chamber via the fluid line.
