Methods and devices for an extreme duty transformer with wet wound primary and secondary winding encapsulated with a resin and having corrugated insulating material as cooling ducts as a transformer capable of withstanding extreme mechanical stresses in an underground mining environment. The method includes providing a resin impregnated rectangular winding form, forming a secondary winding with alternating layers of magnet wire with a resin impregnated insulating collar above and below the magnet wire and corrugated insulating material extending the full or partial circumference and width of the coil. An insulating layer of corrugated material and resin impregnated insulation is wound to separate the primary from the secondary windings. The primary winding is wound with alternating magnet wire layers and resin impregnated insulation layers and a resin impregnated outer layer covers the circumference of the coil to produce an oval mechanically robust construction preventing winding displacement and sealing out environmental contaminants.

Extreme duty encapsulated transformer coil with corrugated cooling ducts and method of making the same

Methods, systems, apparatus and devices for an arc resistant electrical enclosure that includes a duct system of adjacent pressure relief chambers separated by flame arresting ventilation partitions to provide a torturous mechanical maze to relieve internal pressure and extinguish internal hot flames within the flame arresting duct system prior to exiting the enclosure expelling gasses into the external environment. The adjacent partitioned pressure relief chambers for routing pressure and or flames through the duct system with ninety degree turns from one pressure relief chamber into the next adjacent pressure relief chamber. In an embodiment, a set of ventilation panels is located within one or more of the adjacent pressure relief chambers and each next pressure relief chamber can have a volume that is less than the volume in the preceding chamber.

Arc resistant electrical enclosure

An electrical contactor draw out tray has a movable frame and a stationary frame in which the movable frame carries the electrical components for an electrical feeder circuit. The stationary frame is preferably housed within a power distribution center and has input terminals for the incoming electrical power and output terminals for delivering electrical power to equipment operating on the feeder circuit. The movable frame carries the contactors that control the flow of electricity through the apparatus as well as the electrical components to monitor conditions of the apparatus and various parameters for the electricity carried therein to for conditions such as short circuits, overloads, ground faults, overvoltages and undervoltages. A disconnect mechanism locks the movable frame relative the stationary frame and provides a primary means for disengaging electrical flow through the apparatus.
