A method of grounding a tube to a chassis wherein a plastic clip made conductive by the incorporation of conductive particles therein, is clamped onto the jacket of metal automotive vehicle tubing so that projections on the clip penetrate through the jacket to engage the outer surface of the metal tube. The clip body is welded to the jacket to hermetically seal the region of contact between the clip and the metal.

Method of grounding a jacketed metal tube using a clip welded to the jacket

A tube end having an outwardly projecting ridge is secured in a fitting having a body formed with a seat centered on an axis and open axially rearwardly. The tube end is coaxially engageable in the seat, and a retaining clip on the body extends secantally across the seat and can move between an outer spread position engaging a respective inner surface of the seat and an inner retaining position spaced radially inward from the respective inner surface. The tube end when fully axially inserted in the seat is engaged axially outward of the ridge by the clip. A latch element can move between an outer freeing position generally clear of the clip and an inner locking position engaged outward of the clip between same and the respective inner surface and preventing the clip from moving from the inner retaining position to the outer spread position.

Tube-end fitting

A filler-tube assembly for a fuel tank has a filler tube having an upper end formed by a tubular inner wall defining a fill passage and having an outer surface and a concentric outer wall fixed relative to and defining with the inner wall an annular and upwardly open space and having an inner surface and an end surface. A cap adapted to fit over the outer end has a tubular extension fittable in the space and having inner and outer surfaces and an end surface bridging the respective inner and outer surfaces. A seal ring in the space is engaged between one of the surfaces of the cap and one of the surfaces of the filler tube.

Motor-vehicle fuel-tank filler assembly

A multilayer tubing for conveying liquid, especially motor vehicle fuel in a motor vehicle is extruded with an outer layer composed of nylon 12, an intermediate layer composed of an ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer and an electrically-conductive inner layer composed of nylon 6 or nylon 12 and compounded with at most 30% by weight of conductive carbon black or graphite fibril.

Fuel line for a motor vehicle

A coupling has a plastic socket part having a connection nipple fitted into an end of one of two tubes to be joined and having an outer surface engaging the lining of the one tube, a socket having an inner surface, and a conductive metallic lining layer on and extending between the inner and outer surface. A plastic plug part has a respective connection nipple fitted into an end of the other of the tubes and has an outer surface engaging the lining of the other tube, a plug having an outer surface and fittable in the socket, and a conductive metallic lining layer on and extending between the outer surfaces of the plug part. An electrically conductive seal ring is fixed in the socket and engages the outer surface of the plug part. The parts are made of polyoxymethylene and/or a fiber-reinforced polyamide.
