An arrangement intended to be part of a rock drilling machine for percussive drilling. The arrangement includes a casing part with at least one plane end plane. The end plane includes at least a first region and a second region. The first region includes at least a part of the outer contour of the end plane and includes of a material that resists corrosion.

Device and method for protecting the rock drilling machine from corrosion

A percussion device () for a rock drilling machine () including a percussive piston () which is reciprocally movable inside a cylinder and an impact receiving element () with an impact surface (A;A'), against which the percussive piston is arranged to perform strikes in an impact direction for transferring of percussive energy through Shockwaves to a percussive tool. The percussion device is distinguished by the impact receiving element () including a Shockwave modifying portion () which extends in a direction opposite to the impact direction as seen from a plane (P; P&#x2032;) through the impact surface (A; A&#x2032;). The invention also concerns a rock drilling machine and a rock drilling rig.

Percussion device and rock drilling machine

A percussion device has a machine housing (), a forwards and backwards movable percussion piston () in the machine housing, and a reciprocatingly movable valve body () in the machine housing. The percussion piston has a first () and a second () driving surface subjected to pressure to drive the percussion piston () forwards and backwards. The valve body () has a first end surface () and a second end surface () for driving the valve body in first and second directions by applied pressure. The valve body () is arranged over a channel () in the machine housing, to connect at least the second () driving surface alternately to a pressure source () or to low pressure (), and the second end surface () is alternately connectable by the percussion piston () to the pressure source () or, over a valve device () for creating a counter-pressure, to the low pressure ().

Percussion device

A rock drilling machine with a first control means () within a second piston () and acting on a first piston () such that it counteracts displacement of the relative positions of a first and a second control device at the moment of contact of the second piston onto the drill rod or onto a part () connected to this. Furthermore, a rock drill rig comprising such a rock drilling machine and a method for counteracting the said displacement. Significant improvements in reproducibility for impact mechanism stability over long manufacturing series are achieved through the invention. In the same way, the lifetime of rock drilling devices manufactured according to the invention is extended through the impact mechanism acting in a more stable manner despite wear of component parts. It is furthermore possible to dimension for higher rates of impact without risking the impact mechanism stability.

Rock drilling equipment and a method in association with same

A method for controlling a fluid operated percussive device, which inside an axially extending cylinder room () of a housing () of the percussive device includes a to and fro moveable percussive piston (), which is adapted for performing strikes in a striking direction (A) and which includes a signal portion () for controlling a main valve (), which is adapted to intermittently transmit pressure fluid to at least one driving chamber () for the percussive piston. An auxiliary valve () is controlled for transmitting fluid contact between at least one auxiliary channel means () with a channel opening in the cylinder room (), and the main valve () over the signal portion (), for switching the main valve () before the percussive piston, in operation, has reached at least one of said regions. The invention also concerns a percussive device and a rock drilling machine.

Method in respect of a percussive device, percussive device and rock drilling machine

A valve device (V,') for controlling the movement in a machine housing () of a reciprocating percussion piston () of a percussion device () for a rock drilling machine with a first chamber () that can be pressurized for forward driving of the percussion piston () and a second chamber () that can be pressurized for back-driving of the percussion piston (), wherein the valve device includes a to and fro movable valve element (), the movement of which being controlled as a response to the position of a valve portion (V) of the percussion piston in a valve housing portion by periodically pressurizing a signal chamber () actuating the movement of the valve element over signal conduit means (). Said signal conduit means includes at least two signal conduit portions (), which are arranged for essentially simultaneous pressurizing through co-operation between a corresponding number of valve control edges () on the valve portion of the percussion piston and edges () or control chambers in the machine housing. The invention also concerns a percussion device and a rock drilling machine.

Valve device for a percussion device and a percussion device for a rock drilling machine

A rock drilling machine includes a sleeve having openings surrounding a portion of a lubrication channel. A groove surrounds the sleeve, and one end of a second channel is connected to the groove. The other end of the second channel is connected to a lubrication point so that lubricant from the lubrication channel is distributed from the lubrication channel, through the sleeve and groove to the second channel, and from the second channel to a lubrication point of the rock drilling machine.

Rock drilling device

A percussion device () with a reciprocating percussion piston (), includes a first chamber () that can be pressurized for forward driving of the percussion piston () and a second chamber () that can be periodically pressurized for back-driving of the percussion piston (). The percussion device includes at least one driving piston () arranged for actuating the back-driving of the percussion piston () wherein a portion of said driving piston () is arranged to enter into the second chamber () for pressure actuating on a driving surface of the driving piston by pressure medium being present in this chamber in the direction of back-driving, wherein the driving piston () includes means for back-driving co-operation with the percussion piston (), and wherein the driving piston () is free for axial movement with respect to the percussion piston (), opposite the direction of back-driving. The invention also concerns a method and a rock drilling machine.

Percussion device including a machine housing (), a forwards and backwards movable percussion piston () in the machine housing, and a reciprocatingly movable tubular valve body () inside the machine housing, said percussion piston () being arranged to subject a tool () to impact, and said percussion piston including a first () and a second () driving surface arranged to be pressurized in order to drive the percussion piston forwards and backwards, said valve body () including a first end surface () and a second end surface (), wherein pressurizing the first end surface () tends to drive the valve body in a first direction and pressurizing the second end surface () tends to drive the valve body in a second direction, whereby the valve body () is arranged, over a channel () arranged in the machine housing, to connect at least the second () of the driving surfaces alternately to a pressure source () or to low pressure (), wherein an inner room () in the tubular valve body () is continuously connected to the low pressure () over at least one-opening () through an envelope surface of the valve body ().

A hammer device has a machine housing ( ) with a hammer piston ( ) movable to-and-fro. The to-and-fro movement of the hammer piston is controlled by a valve body ( ) movable to-and-fro in the machine housing. The valve body, via a channel ( ), alternatively connects a drive surface ( ) on the hammer piston to a pressure source ( ) and to low pressure ( ). In order to expedite the actuation of the hammer piston at its rear dead center, the machine housing has a room ( ) which is separated from the channel ( ) by the hammer piston at the same time that the valve body ( ) maintains the pressure from the pressure source ( ) on the rear end surface ( ) of the hammer piston.

Hammer device

Drill string component for use at drilling with a liquid driven down-the-hole drilling machine (1) comprising three coaxial tubes (2,4,6) for forming channels for supply of driving medium to the down-the-hole drilling machine, return of the driving medium after it has done its work and supply of flushing medium to the bore hole. The outer tube (2) of the drill string component is provided with a first end piece (7) which is axially displaceable relative to the outer tube and axially lockable relative to the outer tube in an outer position so that the inner tubes (4,6) are protected against damage when the drill string component is not connected with another drill string component, the hammer device (1) or a rotary device (9) for rotation of the drill string.

Drill string component for drilling with a liquid driven drilling machine

Hammer device comprising a machine housing (1) with a hammer piston (2) movable to-and-fro. The movement to-and-fro of the hammer piston is controlled by a valve body (6) movable to-and-fro in the machine housing. In order to speed up the turning of the hammer piston at its rear end position the machine housing is provided with a room (10) which by the hammer piston is separated from connection with the valve body (6) at the same time as the rear end surface (5) is supplied with pressure fluid via a connection (11) opened by the hammer piston to the pressure source (8) when the hammer piston approaches its rear end position.

Hammer drill device

Rock drilling device comprising a backhammer unit (10) in which a hammer piston (9) is movable to-and-fro for automatically exposing a tube string (4) to impacts in a direction away from a drill bit (8) in the tube string. The backhammer unit comprises a housing (13) and a springloaded tube part (14). The housing and the tube part form between them a first valve (16) and a second valve (17). At drilling the first valve which controls the supply of driving medium to said hammer piston is closed and the second valve which controls the flushing medium flow is open. At backwards feeding of the rock drilling machine (2) along the feed beam (1) with a force which exceeds a predetermined value the first valve is open and the second valve is closed.

Rock drilling device comprising a drilling tool with a set of tubes (7) and a set of rods (9) arranged therein. The drilling tool comprises a number of sections which each comprises a tube (7), a rod (9) and an end piece (11). The rod is provided with projections (10) at least near one of its ends for cooperation with parts (13,14) with reduced diameter in the tube and end piece respectively. The part (13) in the tube limits the movement of the rod in a direction away from the end piece. The part (14) in the end piece limits the movement of the rod in a direction towards the end piece. All thread connections (12) between different sections of the drilling tool and between tube and end piece within each section are made in the same way and thus equally easy to break.
