A particle manipulation system and a projection device are provided. The projection device includes an image source and a projection lens. The image source provides an image beam. The projection lens is disposed on a light path of the image beam and includes a zoom lens set and a focusing lens set. The zoom lens set is disposed on the light path of the image beam from the image source and includes at least two lens groups disposed in sequence on the light path of the image beam. The focusing lens set is disposed on the light path of the image beam. The zoom lens set is disposed between the image source and the focusing lens set. A photoconductor chip is disposed on the light path of the image beam from the projection lens.

Particle manipulation system and projection device

An optically-induced dielectrophoresis device includes a first substrate, a first conductive layer, a first patterned photoconductor layer, a first patterned layer, a second substrate, a second conductive layer, and a spacer. The first conductive layer is disposed on the first substrate. The first patterned photoconductor layer is disposed on the first conductive layer. The first patterned layer is disposed on the first conductive layer. The first patterned photoconductor layer and the first patterned layer are distributed alternately over the first conductive layer. Resistivity of the first patterned photoconductor layer is not equal to resistivity of the first patterned layer. At least one of the first substrate and the second substrate is pervious to a light. The second conductive layer is disposed on the second substrate and between the first substrate and the second substrate. The spacer connects the first substrate and the second substrate.

Optically-induced dielectrophoresis device

A carrier with the optical registration function is disclosed. The carrier allows the registration of inspected results of the sampling images of the sample to the corresponding address codes of the address coding site of the carrier.

A fluidic device includes a first reservoir to receive a first fluid, a second reservoir to receive a second fluid, and a main channel coupled to the first and second reservoirs through one or more branch channels. A first one-use pump generates a pressure difference to move one or both of the first and second fluids when a container in the first one-use pump is broken. A second one-use pump generates a pressure difference to move one or both of the first and second fluids when a container in the second one-use pump is broken.

Fluidic device

A fluidic device for performing assays can include control components such as vacuum pumps, gas pumps, 'broken open valves,' and 'self-close valves' for controlling the flow of fluids in the fluidic device. The vacuum pump can be used to pull a fluid in a specific direction in a channel, and the gas pump can be used to push a fluid in a specific direction in a channel. The broken open valve can be used to connect two separate regions at the control of a user, and the self-close valve can be used to automatically seal off a channel after passage of a fluid. The vacuum pumps, gas pumps, broken open valves, and self close valves can be made small in volume so that the fluidic device can be made as a small and portable device.

Fluidic devices and controlling methods thereof

A fluidic device is provided for sealing a proper amount of fluid with a brittle material. By moving an adsorbate through an external adsorption force, the brittle material for pre-sealing is broken, and the fluid flows out to interact with the external environment to generate a pump reaction. In addition, the invention may also be used for storing a liquid reagent in a device for a long time. Thereby, the fluidic device can be made small and portable.

A fluidic device includes a first material defining a first region, a second material defining a second region that is separated from the first region, and a connector coupled between the first region and the second region. The connector includes a brittle material and has an open end and a closed end, the open end being disposed in the second region, the closed end being disposed in the first region. The first region is closed off from the second region by the closed end of the connector. The connector is configured such that when the closed end of the connector is broken, the connector defines a passage from the first region to the second region.

A method of manufacturing a microfluidic device is described. A substrate having at least one device thereon is provided, wherein the device includes at least one channel. Next, a region beside the channel is heated, and then the substrate is pulled to neck the region such that at least one capillary connecting with the channel is formed. The present invention also provides a microfluidic device including a substrate and at least one capillary. In particular, the substrate has at least one device thereon, and the device has at least one channel. The capillary is connected with the channel, wherein the substrate and the capillary are a unity structure such that the interface between the capillary and the channel is dead-volume free.

Microfluidic device and manufacturing method thereof

A microfluid driving device is provided. The microfluid driving device of this invention comprises microfluid driving platform prepared in a chip, which platform comprises at least two miniature Venturi pumps, at least one microchannel and optionally micro mixers or micro reactors in said microchannel; an external pneumatic flow supply and control module that provides selectively different air flows; and an interface device connecting said microfluid driving platform and said external pneumatic flow supply and control module. The air flows supplied by said the pneumatic flow supply and control module are supplied under selected flow rates and frequencies to said at least two Venturi pumps through said interface device, such that the microfluid inside said microchannel may be driven forward or backward or halt and the transportation, mixing and reaction of the microfluid may be accomplished.

Microfluid driving device

A thermolysis reaction actuating pump system including a first set of walls defining a channel having a cross-sectional area less than one millimeter squared, and wherein a liquid is received in the channel. A second set of walls defining a reaction chamber and a thermolytic body carried in the reaction chamber. The first set and second set of walls are constructed and arranged to allow the flow of gas from the reaction chamber into the channel. A heater is positioned to provide heat to the thermolytic body and disassociate the thermolytic body to produce gas to pump the liquid through the channel.

Thermolysis reaction actuating pump

A binder composition for use in making metal parts via a metal powder injection molding process containing the following components: (a) a first polymer with a relatively low solubility parameter such as polyethylene and polypropylene; (b) a second polymer with a relatively high solubility parameter such as polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate); and (c) a block copolymer containing blocks of the first and second, or other structurally similar, constituting monomeric units. Examples of the block copolymers include ethylene/styrene copolymer, propylene/styrene copolymer, and isoprene/styrene copolymer, etc. The binder composition is dispersed in an appropriate dispersant, such as an oil or wax, then blended with a metal powder to form a metal powder injection composition. The metal powder injection composition forms a green compact with a predetermined shape and dimension using an injection molding machine. Finally the green compact is sintered to form the final product. The present binder composition eliminates the incompatibility problem which is often encountered when using multi-component binders; this allows the green compact to maintain excellent dimensional and physical integrities both before and during the sintering step and thus ensures the precise dimension of the final products.
